The DAISY Award was established by The DAISY Foundation in memory of J. Patrick Barnes who died at 33 of ITP, an auto-immune disease. The Barnes Family was awestruck by the clinical skills, caring, and compassion of the nurses who cared for Patrick, so they created this international award to say thank you to nurses everywhere.

We're so incredibly grateful for the Foundation board members who pulled this event together, and for all the donors and sponsors who got involved! It means so much to our employees and providers to see the overwhelming support!

"We LOVED the staffing during our time here.

We had tons of great interactions with the nursing staff and doctors. Kristy Selland is always amazing, and a few of our favorite nurses were Megan, Hanah, and Morgan. All staff members had great personal conversations, which made us look forward to seeing them. All of the nurses communicated well. They were very nice, polite, and receptive to my needs during labor. Staff respected our sleep and rest time. They clustered our care and were quiet when they came in, which was much appreciated. The quality of care is amazing here.

If it were not for Kristy Selland and her team, I don’t know if I would’ve had two successful pregnancies or delivered my babies as healthy as they were."
