10% of all contact-sports athletes sustain a concussion yearly. Once a concussion has occurred, the athlete is 4-6 times more likely to sustain a second concussion.
Know the signs and symptoms of a concussion.
-confusion
-forgetfulness
-disoriented
-decreased balance, clumsy
-slower speech
-mood changes/behavioral changes
Take each case of a possible concussion seriously.

As American Heart Month comes to a close, remember that heart health is a year-round commitment. Prevention is always key. Stay active, eat a balanced and nutritious diet, and keep up with your annual physical exams.
Be proactive—learn the signs and symptoms of a heart attack and understand how to respond quickly and appropriately if they occur. Consider taking a CPR class. Knowing what to do in an emergency could help save a life.
