There was a time that simply noticing my breath would send me into a panic, anxiety and my breath went hand in hand.

Shortness of breath was a symptom of my anxiousness and for a long time I was unable to rest in the breath.

So what do you do when being with the breath is a trigger?

We find another way to anchor and ground until capacity is built to sit with the breath...

Find your anchor:

Movement- Yoga asana practice, walking, hiking, dancing

Nature- Sit outside with your feet on the grass or better yet hug a tree

Senses- Notice what you see, what you smell, what you touch, what you hear, what you taste

Most importantly Trust- A consistent Yoga practice may soften the activated connection to the breath over time.

Last night was the last mentor group of the YTT year, I felt proud, honored, grateful and sad as our group gathered for our last meeting. Delicious food was shared, quiet moments of reflection and honest conversations around what it means to step into being a Yoga facilitator.

The last 8 months have been such a powerful learning experience as a mentor during YTT at the Community Yoga Center.
It was a place where I sometimes took the lead but often took the back seat, observing, listening, learning from and holding space for the beautiful souls that made up the Vulture Daddy group ✨️

Grateful to have had the support, to lean on and share the responsibility and co-mentor with Dani and Vivian. Thank you for your unabashed honesty, your ability to adapt, and the quiet undercurrent of stability. 

So proud of this group and the rest of the 2025/2026 YTT, forever a part of the Vulture Daddies ✨️💚

This month's meeting is being held at Prospect Park, Sunday April 19th from 11:30am-1pm. We plan of sharing food and conversation, with a picnic in the park as the theme. We will meet at the bottom of the park on the grassy area on Cajon st. There is ample parking on this street and easy visible access to where we will meet.

Stay for some of the time or all the time. Encouraged to bring something to share but not necessary!

A community vision brought to life through shared purpose....all we need is you ✨️

Yoga in the Park is taking a Spring Break pause and will resume Thursday, 4/9 at 9am at Prospect Park in Redlands, meeting bi-weekly.

The Highland park practice is currently on pause; for now, consider joining me every other week at Prospect Park to practice beneath the beautiful trees.

Prospect Park in Redlands meets at the upper lot Gazebo. To find parking, turn into Carriage House Road from Cajon St. and follow the signs to the upper lot.

Together, we create a safe space for our community to connect, breathe, and move at their own pace.

These donation-based offerings welcome everyone, regardless of financial ability.

To this wonderful Sangha- thank you for curating presence and contributing to our collective time together. Your ability to build on presence, supported such beautiful vulnerable and healing moments to the parallel journeys we all walk. Thank you ✨️

The last few weeks I have been consuming all of the things out there that have recently come to light, feeling both outrage and horror...

My innate sense to care for myself went out the window replaced by a need to be informed.  I was taking myself out my window of tolerance, my capacity was quickly overrun.

By the time I was able to recognize it, it was too late. I was already hurting in ways that were showing up in my body before my mind could catch up.

My body has always been my sounding board, it was ringing the alarm. By the time I recognized i I was hurting in more ways than one.

I sensed this deep feeling of fear and angst.

A fear and angst I had not felt since my years on the couch with my Sunset teacher...

I am tending to myself with loving compassion.

Healing is discernment.

Discernment is innate protection and wisdom. An ability to recognize guidance from something greater than us... I am resting in discernment.

This week has been a quite trepidation, balancing taking care of myself while managing outer responsibilities- cutting out anything that didnt require my immediate attention.

I am moving and sharing in ways this week that are much slower, rooted to earth.  My offerings have been immersed in this deeper knowing of trusting the body to lead the way, a reminder to both myself and those breathing with me.

My body and heart are mending.

You are allowed to choose your level of engagement, to care for yourself in the ways that make the most sense to you.

You are not made less for it.

If you have been feeling the same, you are not alone.
