Please join me and sign up to be trained. If you can give us just 45 minutes we will provide you with an online training session that will help you to identify when someone needs help and the appropriate steps you can take to get them the help they need.

The Happy Crew is partnering with me to provide the training and my fellow scouts will be helping to lead the training sessions.

Please share this with your friends, family, neighbors and fellow scouts. We want to train everyone and Make A Difference.

We will be holding two training sessions but will add more if we have enough participation.

My name is Carissa. I began my Scouts BSA scouting journey in February 2019 and am really excited to be working on my Eagle Scout Project now that I am a Life Scout.

The Eagle Scout Service Project, or simply Eagle Project, is the opportunity for a Scouts, BSA Scout to demonstrate leadership of others while performing a project for the benefit of his or her community.

I wanted a project that would be of benefit for a long time, that would make people better for having participated with me. When trying to decide how my project could best serve my community I considered many options and kept coming back to a problem that I felt needed more attention, especially now that our way of life has been changed so drastically.

I decided that I wanted to teach people how to identify and help their friends, family, co-workers and neighbors that were struggling with depression or suicidal thoughts. So often we may recognize that something isn't quite right but we are afraid to get involved because we aren't sure what to do and don't want to say the wrong thing.

It can be scary to step up, take a chance and put it all out there to help someone in need. It is worth it and I know that a little training can go a long way.

My Eagle Project aims to raise awareness and to encourage the change of the societal norm to bottle up feelings. Right now, as we are separated from our friends and families, it is crucial that we are looking after those we care about and making sure they’re doing ok.

My Eagle Project is focused on training scouts, friends, family, teachers, community leaders, and other caring citizens how to see the red flags, react/respond appropriately, and help the person in crisis get the assistance they need. By working with The Happy Crew and the United States Air Force Academy’s Arnold Air Society Squadron, I will be organizing training sessions to support the Joint National Project to train the next generation of leaders to help prevent su***de.
