Balance.

Above all else, death has taught me this:

To survive this world - to possibly thrive this world - we must hold joy in one hand and grief in the other.

We must praise life in both ways. Laughter and tears are cousins (my favorite teacher, Martin Prechtel, says).

They live in the same house. They come from the same muscle.

Holding Space

To “hold space” for someone or something means to be fully present and supportive during a difficult experience. It is a skill that requires listening, offering comfort, neutrality, and non-judgment.

This picture here is of my flower agate Quan Yin statue. She supports me in learning how to offer a comforting and kind presence while holding space for others. She also is assisting me to heal emotional pain while encouraging forgiveness, healing and acceptance.
