Anyone else on the struggle bus HARD right now? Cause I’m just gonna be honest and let you know that I have been lately 🙋‍♀️

I’ve been a little MIA recently, but truth be told I just didn’t have the mental capacity to post the last few days. My anxiety and stress levels have been through the roof. I’ve been absolutely buried with work. I’ve felt emotionally drained and physically exhausted. I’ve been feeling a lack of motivation, and its been hard to focus. All the things at once and I’m just STRAIGHT UP NOT HAVIN A GOOD TIME FAM.

Could be stress from work. Could be the time change and it getting darker earlier. Could be that time of the month. Could be the rainy weather recently. Could be the 8 month quarantine catching up with me. There are a lot of factors!

This is not meant to be a Debbie-downer post, or to gain sympathy.

The point of saying all this is to let you know that YOU ARE NOT ALONE. If you are struggling right now, know that there are so many people like myself who are struggling right along with you. I’ll say it a million times, life is full of ups and downs, and it is unrealistic to think that you will cruise through life at 💯 all the time. Let yourself feel all the emotions and be in those low moments, because you come out stronger on the other side. And most importantly, know that these feelings and low points are only temporary. The sun will rise again tomorrow and with that comes a new day get back out there and show up for yourself!!!

THIS TOO SHALL PASS, my friends ❤️

I want to ask you a few questions!

When you are down, who inspires you to get back up? Who inspires you to be the best version of yourself? Who inspires you to pursue self-growth and take on challenges outside your comfort zone?

Who supports you when you find yourself struggling? Who supports your goals? What does your support system look like and do you need to do some re-evaluating?

Think about it for a minute.

Because at the end of the day, we can’t make it through life all by ourselves! We need relationships, communication and a healthy circle of support to truly thrive. Make sure you are surrounding yourself with those who only want to see you succeed, and will help you do just that!

For me, it’s my FAMILY! We are a tight knit circle of 5, and I can honestly say I would not be here writing this caption if it weren’t for the unconditional love and support from my family. I feel so incredibly lucky to have grown up in such an affectionate, yet humbling household.

Don’t get me wrong, I adore my friends!! Friendships are so important and they are an addition to my core support system - but the reality is that they often come and go. Most friendships flourish or fade as you move into different chapters of life - that’s just how it is! My family, on the other hand, has been by my side since day 1. They know me in and out, have seen me at my best and worst, and have watched me succeed and fail, yet accept me for my authentic self, and will always be there to encourage, challenge, and support me.

My family is my

We have fun and take silly fam selfies, but they keep me humble and hold me accountable. They inspire me to be my best self. Why? Because I want to be a good role model for my younger sisters. I want my parents to be proud of the woman they’ve raised. I want to be the best version of myself so I can be there for my family like they’ve always been there for me throughout the years.

Love you familia ❤️

Stress, anxiety, illness, unrest, depression, etc. All of these facets upset our equilibrium. 2020 has not been easy and I’m sure a lot of us have felt the effects of these increased levels of imbalance and unrest. Especially tomorrow, as Election Day comes to a head and we receive the results that will determine the course of the US for the next 4 years, many of will feel additional emotional and mental impacts.

No matter what party you side with, your upbringing, your religion, your skin color, your ethnicity, your current situation, etc., it’s important to remember that we are all human - to turn to things that bring us joy, center us, and remind us of our humanity. Whatever makes you feel more like YOU, especially during this tense political and economic climate, KEEP DOING IT.

Crazy to think how so much can change in just a short amount of time. It just proves that we can try to plan and prepare for the future, but we really have no idea what the future holds! We can never truly foresee what next week, next year, or even tomorrow holds! So why not focus your energy to the present moment, which is always guaranteed?

PS. I would go back to New Zealand

BREAKFAST OF CHAMPIONS 🏆

I think I could eat breakfast food all day every day. Anyone else with me?!

One of my go-to breakfasts is OATMEAL! It can seem bland, but it’s actually super quick, easy, and never gets boring when you know how to make it right 💁‍♀️ Not to mention heart healthy, packed with fiber, and extra nutritious.

For a super quick breakfast, I just use the good ole microwave to heat up my oats, normally steel cut or quick oats. I love to add in cinnamon, banana, and agave to the oats themselves since they can be a bit plain.

OR we get creative with toppings and make a hella aesthetic bowl out of it 😎

This oat bowl is topped with banana, strawberry, blueberry, chopped dates, h**p seeds, almond butter, cinnamon, and a little agave!

SO YUM and packed with protein, healthy fats, and carbs to keep you satisfied all morning long!

Food doesn’t have to be boring people! Get creative and find things you enjoy 🙌🏼

🏷 TAG a friend who loves breakfast!
📌 SAVE this post for your next oatmeal inspiration
💛 & HAVE A WONDERFUL TUESDAY!!

Let’s talk insecurities.

Something that all of us have, yet is often hidden behind the virtual walls of social media.

I made this page to be 💯 real with you - not give some fully polished highlight reel of my life that we see oh so often in the world of Instagram - so I am going to continue to do just that! Its taken me a longgg time to get to where I am today, and I’m very proud of that! But behind my profile - and so many others - is a vulnerable human being full of successes and failures, insecurities and self doubt, just trying to be my best self in this beautiful life I’ve been given.

A big part of trying to live my best live is being able to overcome the equal amounts of lows that often come with the highs. Although some of us wish life was all sunshine and rainbows, we really only grow as humans by learning to overcome our battles & thrive outside our comfort zone.

It’s important to learn to cope with and face things like self doubt and insecurities, because these mental battles can often be detrimental. As someone who once struggled with an eating disorder, depression, and anxiety, I truly know the feeling of being insecure. Constantly doubting how I looked, my abilities, and my self worth. I hated being 6ft tall. I didn’t feel like I fit in anywhere. There was a time where I felt like everyone constantly judged me and talked behind my back. I felt like a stranger in my own body. And if there was something to be insecure about, I most likely was. I was in such a scary place mentally, emotionally, and physically.

You want to know how I got out of that dark hole I once called my life?

How do you stay so motivated?!

I don’t. Plain and simple. I’m not always at the top of my game. No one is! But there is a major different between:

MOTIVATION < DISCIPLINE

Having motivation is empowering! It’s your WHY. It’s the little engine that says you can, when everything else says you can’t. But let’s face it, motivation comes and goes. When it comes full force, it’s amazing. But it’s not a constant in our fast paced, stress-filled world.

You know what will always show up for you if your motivation is lacking? Self-discipline. It’s the WHAT that helps get you back on track when you fall off course. Discipline helps you do the right thing in the moment for the sake of long-term benefits. Showing up consistently even when you don’t want to...that’s discipline.

Generally, motivation only gets you so far. It’s discipline that gives you the little extra push.

HOW DO YOU STAY DISCIPLINED?
