Parenting with emotional maturity is an ongoing practice. By recognizing patterns of emotional reactivity or avoidance, and taking intentional steps to address them, you create a foundation of trust, resilience, and emotional security for your children. Small, consistent efforts in awareness, reflection, and responsive communication have a lasting impact on both parent and child.

Grieving is not a weakness—it’s a human response to loss in all its forms. Allow yourself to feel it, express it, and navigate it at your own pace. Healing doesn’t mean forgetting; it means learning to carry your loss with grace and self-compassion. 💛

When I was younger, I used to hate when my parents told me “you are the company you keep.” Now, I get it- the people you spend time with influence your thoughts, emotions, and direction. So, as an adult, I choose relationships that bring clarity, calm, and accountability — not chaos or comparison. The right circle won’t just support who you are today; they’ll help you become who you want to be.

The most meaningful work we do isn’t found in boardrooms or busy streets — it happens quietly within the walls of our home. Our families are the roots of society; when we nurture them, we help grow a better future. Never underestimate the power of your daily choices at home — they shape lives, hearts, and generations to come.

Play is not a break from learning — it is learning. Whether it’s pretend play, building blocks, or running around outside, every playful moment helps shape a child’s mind, heart, and sense of self. When we protect time for play, we’re nurturing growth in the most natural and powerful way.

👋 With so many new faces here, I thought I’d reintroduce myself.

📜 I’m Dr. Adrian Oxman, a Clinical Psychologist based in Hoboken, NJ. I have a Masters in Clinical Psychology, a Masters in Education and a Doctorate in Clinical and School Psychology.

🍫 But I’m also Adrian, mom of two, wife, sister, daughter, friend, lover of all things chocolate.

✨In my professional life, I specialize in motherhood, parenting, child development and anxiety. Sessions with me are collaborative and candid. My theory is that good therapy shouldn’t just be supportive, it should be transformative.

🫖 And in my personal life, you’ll usually find me chasing my kids around a park, drinking tea and laughing with my friends.

📝 I hope you find the content I put on social media to be helpful and entertaining. As a reminder, all advice offered is educational in nature only and not a substitute for a therapeutic relationship.
