how was your weekend?! share the highlight with me 💫

did you have fun this weekend and you aren't feeling your best?! chances are we have all been there and more than once! it's not only common to indulge & consume foods you don't normally on a holiday or long weekend, but it's normal & we all do it 😎
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I tell my clients all the time that I encourage them to enjoy themselves during these times, but just to be mindful of it. and during those times that we aren't, it's not the end of the world.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
my best mantra for times like these is, "this is temporary." 👏🏽🙏🏽 you will not feel this way forever! get back to the basics & your usual routine, and thats that 👏🏽

this time of year, is all about transitional - enjoying the rest of summer while welcoming fall. I made a CREAMY WHIPPED FETA DIP 🧀🍅 topped with roasted tomatoes, all cooked in and finished with Extra Virgin Olive Oil - my favorite everyday olive oil!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
FOR TOPPINGS:
1.5c cherry tomatoes
1-2tbsp Colavita Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Salt & pepper
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
FOR DIP:
8oz block feta
1/2c Greek yogurt
1/2c mayo
1/2tsp minced garlic
1/4tsp each: dried oregano, thyme, salt, pepper, crushed red pepper flakes
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
preheat oven to 350f, place all toppings ingredients on a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes. Let cool.
In a high-speed food processor, add all dip ingredients and blend until smooth. Adjust flavors to taste! Smooth out in a shallow bowl, top with tomatoes, Colavita Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and dried basil. Serve with pita and fresh veggies and enjoy!

the benefits of walking are for everyone. I think walking is the most underrated exercise, and its FREE. there are SO many, but here are my favorite benefits of walking & when to do it:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
+ just a 10-15 minute walk around the block after a meal can aid in digestion
+ a morning walk up to 20-30 minutes can be an easy way to level up your morning routine and get mood-boosting vitamin D first thing
+ getting in a routine of walking a few miles a day, a few days a week can prevent arthritis and joint pain from forming in the first place. Walking lubricates your joints, especially in knees and hips, and strengthens the muscles that support them.
+ consistent physical activity, especially walking, encourages fluid to drain into the lymphatic system in the abdomen. Walking can encourage the lymph to move.
+ walking can increase energy levels by naturally inhaling more oxygen into your system and taking a mental health break.
+ walking is free, gentle and a form of self care to do by yourself, or with someone else, and often times makes you feel the most refreshed. You can even break a sweat!

1 YEAR being my own boss! 🥂✨
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
june of 2021 I left the school year like any other, ready to enjoy my summer until the following September. Eric and I flew to Florida for 10 days. During our trip, I distinctly remember talking about how happy I was to be off for the summer, to which Eric replied, “are you sure you want to go back next year?”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I always knew I would leave the teaching profession at some point - I knew I couldn’t do both of my jobs forever, and I knew I couldn’t do both of them WELL. I was working my normal school hours as a kindergarten teacher, and every afternoon, evening, night, weekend, whenever on all of my instagram work. I was not living out my passion to its full potential.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I was excited to have Erics support in me choosing a new career path that held a lot of uncertainty, but I knew that this decision would come from me, for me, and I had the drive to make sure I succeeded. Although my principal held open doors for me if I ever chose to come back, this was never an option.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1 year later and I couldn’t be happier. Although this job surprises me in ways I couldn’t previously imagine - more challenges, bigger risks, self motivation, longer days and hours - I have never been so content in a decision before.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
so I owe this all to you 🫶🏼 thank you for being here, for supporting me, for believing in me, for all of the simple likes and comments that go farther than you think, for using my links, for challenging me and befriending me. I am so fortunate to connect with all of you, the companies, brands and business owners that have become a part of my life.

today, if you’re feeling like you need to “get back on track,” just remember, there is no “track.” 👊🏽

it’s okay to not feel so great after a long weekend. you’re not in routine, eating and drinking things your body may not be used to, you’re off your sleep schedule, and maybe you’re a little tired and burnt out from travel or socializing!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
that’s normal and that’s okay 🤍 just get back to routine. get back to the things you know make you feel good. but we don’t need to take it to extremes. be positive, drink your water, unpack your bags, make a homemade meal, get some steps in and have a great day!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
