Victoria was born on 9-11-01 and it was not until years later that she was diagnosed with Mitochondrial Disease. In 2013, we began lobbying for safe access to Cannabis oil. Victoria is profound special needs, she can’t talk or read. Thanks for reading!

Is there a compound for Special needs parents & caregivers?

Seems like I saw this someplace or I imagined it.

Wouldn’t it be nice to be in a safe place where you could live in solitude and know your child is safe.

Victoria is sleeping therefore I’m able to post before she wakes up and starts her day. We need a clone or extra set of hands. The issue is 1) she doesn’t communicate verbally 2) i don’t trust people.

Today, a group of advocates will be having lunch with a Senator. I’m supposed to be there at 12. Then I have to take my mother to the ER. We have an appt at 2 in Midtown. Emory has this program where you can make an appt for the ICC (ER for Cancer patients) and I have Victoria with me basically 24-7, like cannot Christmas shop. Not even have a Birthday dinner. No help.

I need a clone or we need to move to the land of Special needs, after we find it.

Fingers crossed that she has a seizure free day today and all is well. Joseph stayed home from work today so he can watch her. He was just at Waffle House at 4 am so there’s that!

Ya’ll don’t know Mr. Dennis Not the Menace

Frankly we’ve never met him either but I can tell you this:

He’s a Grandpa, he’s a He served his Country well, Thank YOU for your service, Sir. He has a good heart. He’s retired. He enjoys his land and his family. He does what he can for those in need.

Yesterday, although he’s never met Victoria, He made sure she got the medicine she needed. Right on time, I might add.

Earlier in the week, I advised his family that another SN momma & a good friend, took care of Victoria and made sure she got the cannabis rescue nasal spray. And I can probably guess Mr. Dennis said “Always have a back up plan” and he’s right!

People who’ve never met her have offered to help, from former high school friends in Florida to fellow advocates in Detroit. Thank YOU for using your power for good and also for not bashing us for using what we have. Even though we need more safe access.

Yesterday, I tried to make a post to explain what is happening here in Ga but Victoria had other plans and I gave up, editing it.

If the world had more people, old & young, like Mr. Dennis Not the Menace, folks who help where you can. We would be better as a society. If you can’t be anything else, be kind. Thank you again! Stay warm.

She just had a seizure a few minutes ago.
This is like having a newborn 24/7 for over 24 years.

“Let the kids die!”

A quote from Ron William’s, 2014.
Cannabis advocate.

What type of human being thinks, “Well if I can’t have w**d, then sick & dying children can’t either” Then they pick up their toys and leave the sandbox, big mad.

While preparing for the upcoming Legislative Session, I ran across an old email from 2014, when we began lobbying that reminded me of what all we went through. Nowadays when advocates stand up for what they believe, and expressing their first amendment rights, they get blasted by other advocates.

In Georgia, we have old old, did I mention incredibly old advocates who should be enjoying their final days on earth however, they spend precious time and wasted energy constantly bashing advocates who do not exactly align with them.

When a person says to me “Fuc! Victoria” They may not realize the damage it does. Words hurt. Words have power. Choose wisely.

When someone sends me a message and says “Why are you lobbying for people who will never be a contributing member of society” How do you even respond to these people?

This Legislative session, we need more advocates. You’ll need thick skin and common sense. Please join us.

And yes, some seizure kids are no longer with us. There’s too many to list, RIP little angels.

Live and let live.

Didn’t old people create that saying?

What happened? people only believe in freedom of speech when it’s their voice and their opinion. But shame others when it doesn’t exactly align. Make it make sense.

. There’s a handful of advocates always present for every meeting. Join the movement. We’ve been meeting. Ignorance is bliss.

In your humble opinion:

Do you think non verbal (I have recently heard we can’t use that term anymore but i forgot the replacement word- forgive me) people feel Seasonal Depression?

I was chatting with our Pharmacist, who is also a Parent of a Special needs person, He explained his son just wants to stay home, in bed, in his birthday suit! I get it. As the world changes, let’s just stay safe at home.

Emory suggested we take Victoria to a psychiatrist regarding her challenge to wear clothing. However, with her being non verbal (sorry, there’s that word again) I do not see how a psychiatrist would help. We will do anything for her, of course.

Please let me know your thoughts, Can a non verbally communicative person get depressed?

I’ll vote yes. Based on our life.

Good Morning Friends:

We’re still here.

Yesterday, she slept on/off all day. She’s not eating or drinking. You’ll get a quick jab to the throat if you try to make her drink anything. I know it’s “pick your battles” And this is a serious one so she doesn’t get dehydrated.

Seizures kicked up around 3 am.

My good friend, Mechelle keeps us updated on Full moons and we had 1 last week. Maybe with the recent full moon- turning off her VNS- the cold snap coming in- was a recipe for a disaster.

VNS surgery won’t happen until the new year. It’s wild because I called this past Summer when I sensed something was wrong with it. Victoria tripped over Macy Gray (pup) because the dog lives to eat, Victoria also loves to eat, the pup stays under her feet waiting on a morsel to drop. She tripped over Macy Gray coming in the back door and face planted the hardwood floor, She was coughing which indicated something may have occurred with her VNS leads. They go through her neck and to the base of her brain. It’s either broken or just old. Either way, they turned it off and that’s not good.

Back to the dispensary saga, Joseph (the youngest) doesn’t talk much if at all. For example: I asked him “Do you have a baseball game today?” Rather than answering he pulled down the first layer of clothing to reveal his uniform under his clothes. He blames this on his generation and social media. His Teammate is a Manager and I don’t want to get anyone in trouble, I thought we worked out something yesterday so Victoria could get what she needed. We need whole plant full spectrum cannabis rescue nasal spray and the ONLY store in Georgia that carries this product is NOT open on Sunday. Usually the seizure moms take care of each other, We have never had products from a Georgia “dispensary”. There’s a first time for everything.

Today is a new day!

Friday, I was at the Vet all afternoon.
We thought Macy Gray was on her last leg, I told Joseph to come “say goodbye”. That was the energy Friday, worry & fear.

Then on Saturday, Joseph slid into 3rd base and someone threw the ball to the third baseman but the ball landed on Joe’s hand. He thought it was broken or shattered. That was the energy on Sat- a lot of concern for his hand.

Then Sunday in the middle of the night, she begins seizing back to back non stop, seizure after seizure, falling off of the couch backwards into a somersault. The vibe was a little bit of stress on Sunday.

Today is a new day.

There’s a long list of people who I need to respond too, Thank you for being patient!

To those who stand up and speak for the ones who cannot speak for themselves- You’re the REAL MVP.

Anyone can go to the Capitol and speak for themselves over and over and over again. It takes someone built different to stand up and speak for someone who cannnot stand up for themselves, shout out to you all and my hat goes off to you, Much respect. Those are the good and rare ones.

**Update**

Sadly, Walgreens for the win. They have meds and they understand, also as a Special needs parent our local pharmacist gets it, As much as I hate big pharma. We have to use what we have.

I placed an online order with a “dispensary” that’s what they call it. And i’ve called 6 times since 10 am, I can’t get anyone to answer the phone. Joseph plays baseball with the store manager and he’s at the game with him. Maybe that’s why. I don’t know.

This life is tough and there’s people out there who make it much tougher for us.

We wake up at 3 am to our daughter having a seizure, bowels everywhere, it being dark and 3 am, not seeing very well, stepping into it and she’s soaked with urine from loosing herself. Then other humans out here doing everything in their power to make life a little bit harder, is unbelievable.

I’ll keep trying to reach someone at the “dispensary”

She’s stable, that’s all that matters.

After a dose of expired ativan, half a spray of incredibly old rescue cannabis nasal spray and a 2 doses of Cannabis oil, she’s stop seizing!

Earlier, she seized non stop since 5 am, even falling backwards off of the couch and into a summersault. I thought her neck was broken.

I am headed to Decatur to pick up my mother who is suffering from Stage 4 bone cancer, drive her to Marietta with her Low thc card and have her get Victoria what she needs, rescue cannabis nasal spray.

It really shouldn’t be this hard.

People who’ve “smoked pot since they were 14 years old” Will continue to smoke pot until they’re in the grave!

It’s not about those people, those people will always have access or find a way, it’s about people like Victoria. Disagree or cry about it. Nonetheless it does not change the facts.

People complained about us going facebook Live, people complained we only post when she’s having a seizure, people complain about “selfie queen”, people complain about “it’s not medicine”, people complain “we only post when we help people”, people complain “why record when she’s having a seizure”.

Point is, People always complain until they expire. Let’s see you do a better job!

With the risk of becoming a target from a hostile individual, Can someone please meet us at this location today at 10 am?

You need a GA license/ID and a Low THC card. It's a matter of life and death. I would not ask if we didn't need the help.

We would not want to become a target, but when it comes to Victoria's life, then so be it. Truly sad humans act in this manner.

A few weeks ago, a local Special needs single mom reached out for help because she was moving back to the Georgia Coast. At the time, a deer ran into my vehicle. We could only send a text to our neighborhood hero, Chip H. and I knew they were in good hands. I did not hear back until they got moved & settled.

The momma sent me this message:

I don't know if I ever thanked you enough for the chain that started me on the path to finding those wonderful missionaries from Revolution Church. The person you sent a message to [Chip] was able to get people there to help me for almost 2 full days. Without them, I could have never loaded that truck. I wanted to tell you how much it meant to me. And they are wonderful people. It's a shame I had to meet them when we were leaving. But I am happier in a Coastal environment where we have inclusive environments and the weather, for the most part, year round is way better than North Ga. We are having a bit of a cold snap right now.

——————————————————————

The ironic part is, a few months ago, I took a couple to the airport. We talked about things you’re NOT supposed to talk about- politics & religion. They expressed they have tried many local churches and hadn’t found one yet. They tried Revolution for a while but they didn’t feel like their tithes went back into the community.

Now I kind of want to circle back around while singing “it’s a small world after all”

Having a village is amazing. It’s the small things. the BIG things, all the things.

Guess who needs surgery, again?

We’re waiting on a call from the Neurosurgeon now. The lead in her VNS is broken. Grrrrrrr.

We have not had surgery with (adult) Emory yet, she’s only been to CHOA her entire life except when she went to Detroit Children’s hospital in 2004.

Her appt today was at 7 am and at 2 am, she was wide awake and throwing every glass ornament that she could get her hands on. We’ve yet to find the new hand soap from her late night shenanigans last week. She’s up all night throwing things lately. I gave her a night night pill at 10 pm and the best way that I can explain is,
it’s almost like when the little guy punches the big bad bully and he replies “is that all ya got, kid?” Sleeping pills don’t phase this girl.

Fingers crossed we get her in for surgery ASAP.

Thank you for loving our girl.
