๐Ÿ’™ Today is World Autism Awareness Day ๐Ÿ’™

At Rose Hill, we recognize autism as part of the broader concept of neurodiversity, the natural variation in how individuals think, communicate, and experience the world. We recognize and celebrate the unique strengths, perspectives, and experiences of individuals on the autism spectrum. Our approach is grounded in creating environments that are structured, supportive, and responsive to individual needs, while promoting dignity, autonomy, and meaningful participation in daily life.

Letโ€™s continue to move beyond awareness and toward acceptance, respect, and meaningful inclusion for all.
๐Ÿ”น Celebrate differences
๐Ÿ”น Support neurodiversity
๐Ÿ”น Lead with compassion

Each year, on March 30th, we honor World Bipolar Day to raise awareness and bring an end to the stigma around bipolar disorder.

This day is observed in memory of Vincent van Gogh, who died at just 37 years old after battling severe mental health struggles in the final years of his life. After his death, he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, but is still considered one of the greatest painters of all time.

When you help raise awareness and end the stigma around mental health conditions, you bring resources to those who need them most. To learn more about what bipolar disorder is and see how living with this disorder may feel, check out the resources below.

Our last greenhouse video with Jessica planting roses got a lot of love and some requests to see Rob as the star of the next video. Consider your wish granted!

Today, Rob is giving us a behind-the-scenes look at how the horticulture team plants veggie seeds and gets them ready to grow strong before transplanting them for the big day.

Those tiny seeds will turn into the veggie plants you can take home at our Annual Flower Sale & Fundraiser on May 9. Rob is planting tomato seeds today, which means your future summer salads might be starting in this very tray.

Look closely. Do you see your tomato plant in here?

Not a golfer? Perfect. Neither are half the people coming to the dinner. โ›ณ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ

Par & Plate on August 17 is not just for golfers. While teams are out on the course, the evening dinner is where everyone comes together. Think great food, good company, exciting auction items, and an impactful mission. No golf skills required.
..Now we have to ask... Are you Team Golf or Team Dinner? Tell us in the comments.

You asked for more practical mental health tips this year. We are listening. ๐Ÿ’š

Todayโ€™s skill comes from Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and it is called DEAR MAN. It is a simple tool that helps you ask for what you need, set boundaries, or say no while keeping the conversation respectful and clear.

It is especially helpful when emotions are high, and you want to communicate without damaging the relationship.

More tips like this are coming. Tell us in the comments what mental health tools you want to learn next!

Everyone, please give Bunderella a warm welcome to the Rose Hill family! After being rescued from a difficult home at just three months old, Bunderella spent nine months at the Genesee County Humane Society before our wonderful team adopted her, giving her a safe and loving forever home.

As she slowly adjusts to life at Rose Hill, she reminds us of something we see every day. Healing takes time, patience, and trust ๐Ÿ’š

Jessica, our Horticulture Work Team Lead, is giving us a behind-the-scenes look at how we plant the famous Rose Hill roses. The very same ones you will find at our annual Flower Sale & Fundraiser on May 9th.

Each rose plant you see in our greenhouses is carefully planted and taken care of by the residents of Rose Hill, under the leadership of our amazing horticulture work team leaders! The work team is a crucial part of the Rose Hill program, and the hands-on work that helps residents build confidence, routine, and a sense of purpose. You could say a lot of growth happens here ๐Ÿ˜‰(pun intended).

Mark your calendar for our annual Flower Sale & Fundraiser on May 9th.

This week, we celebrated the ribbon-cutting of the John Kelly House, once the home of John Kelly, the late son of our founders. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors, construction began in 2025 to transform the original two-bedroom home into a six-bedroom home for extended-stay residents.

During the celebration, our co-founder Dan Kelly shared that the home โ€œwas always a happy home.โ€ Looking around the room filled with supporters, staff, residents, and friends, it certainly felt like we were off to a wonderful start in continuing that tradition.

Thank you to everyone who made this moment possible. The next chapter of the John Kelly House begins now ๐Ÿ’š
