It's Activity Professionals Week and our theme this year is "Everyday Heroes", so meet our team of heroes! It's a bird, it's a plane, it's Michelle, our Super Activity Director; Lupi, our Wonder Woman/Activity Assistant; Shaun, our Superman/Driver/Assistant; and Maria, our Supergirl who is part of all departments as our Concierge/Receptionist. We're clearly biased, but we think our jobs are awesome! We love bringing the fun while caring for our residents, and we're always ready to save the day! Our Activity Team is SUPER, WONDERFUL, POWERFUL, and most of all, INCREDIBLE!!

Here at The Peninsula, we live the dream that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. spoke of—a dream where we choose unity, kindness, and respect for one another. Residents, staff, and every visitor who walks through our doors are welcomed, valued, and embraced in our inclusive community. Not just on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, but every day, we strive to live this dream, and we hope that communities everywhere can say the same. We even have a few residents who were at his famous "I Have a Dream" speech in Washington, D.C., and it's always amazing to hear residents' memories and stories.

We marked Elvis' birthday with a trivia session, despite our less-than-impressive impersonation🕺. We learned that Elvis was indeed blond, his middle name was Aaron, he was particularly fond of peanut butter and banana sandwiches, had a twin brother who died at birth, still holds the record for the highest number of top 40 hits, served honorably in the U.S. Army, earned a black belt in karate, and left an indelible mark as a singer, actor, musician, and enduring legend. Can you tell we love our job!!! We can make fools of ourselves just to make our residents laugh!! So, in our best Elvis voice, we say... "Thank you...thank you...thank you very much!"
