Knowing what to look for can make all the difference when it comes to early detection.

Dr. Randolph breaks down the ABCDEs of melanoma, an easy way to remember the warning signs:
🟤 A – Asymmetry: one side of the mole looks different than the other.
🟤 B – Border: edges that are uneven or jagged.
🟤 C – Color: multiple colors or shades like black, blue, or red.
🟤 D – Diameter: larger than the eraser on a pencil.
🟤 E – Evolution: any mole that changes in shape, size, or color over time.

Other skin cancers, like basal cell or squamous cell carcinoma, may appear as a sore, bump, or pimple that doesn’t heal after several weeks.

If you notice any of these changes, schedule a skin exam with your dermatologist—it could save your life.
