I had an interesting conversation the other day about mindfulness. 🧘 Meditation was my original focus, but then the questions expanded to the ideal of mindfulness practices.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Meditation is a beautiful way to practice mindfulness. Still, it's not until we choose to engage with mindfulness in our everyday tasks when we start to see results -- like enjoying the sounds, feel, and smell of mundane tasks. 🍵⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

When you practice deep listening you:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✔️ develop empathy⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✔️ become more open-minded⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✔️ strengthen genuine relationships⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here's how to create an environment where it's easy to strengthen human connection through deep listening:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🔹 Take a moment to clear the space by relaxing, closing your eyes, and bringing awareness to your body. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🔹 Take a few breaths bringing awareness into your torso region, then your neck, all the way down your spine. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🔹 Then become present to listen to your friend. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This exercise is like clearing your workspace on a messy desk. Every paperwork has a home, and you'll know exactly where to find it when you need it! Just like your thoughts. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Did you know that long-term exposure to stress will depress your immune system and affect your heart, metabolism, and mental health? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

We're exposed to a handful of different environmental stress factors every day. And I'd like to touch on the one you have a good amount of influence on -- your environmental stressors. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This includes ergonomic, physical environmental, and anthropogenic (caused by humans) stressors. These everyday stressors translate to bad posture, too much or not enough light exposure, and excess noise.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
