This meal right here would have been the beginning of a terrible month long food binge.

I would have sat there and felt guilty while crunching on my sweet potato fries.

Stuffing myself with as much food as I could because I had been restricting myself for weeks.

Cutting my calories drastically, doing an hour of cardio on top of my strength training workouts.

And denying all of the foods that I loved.

Feeling disgusted and totally stuffed after all the free bread, appetizers, and my food.

Of course, I would say yes when the waiter asked if we wanted a dessert menu.

I'm telling you all this because there is a better way to approach weight loss.

One without giving up the foods and snacks you love.

One where you don't feel completely miserable all day.

Jenn came to me feeling frustrated and stuck.

She had been struggling with weight her whole life and would constantly yoyo diet.

She tried all the fad diets.

Weight Watchers

Low carb

NO carb, etc.

She was walking 2 miles per day.

Drinking a gallon of water every day.

And ate healthy, but she still could not get the results that she wanted.

So she signed up for our coaching program in December, and we started a reverse diet to help speed her metabolism up and build some muscle.

She was eating 1300-1500 cals a day, and we got that up to 2218 cals a day while still losing some weight over the course of a few months.

There were times when she was frustrated at her progress and anxious about seeing results, not knowing if it would actually happen.

So we would get on a call. I would remind her why we are doing what we are doing and why things are happening, and she calmed down and pushed forward.

She trusted in me and trusted in the process, and now that we are in the Fat Loss Acceleration phase of the program, she is seeing all the fruits of her labor.

She is a perfect example of what it looks like to trust the process and to stay consistent with things even when doubt creeps in.

I couldn’t be more proud of her and all of the progress she has made, and I can't wait to see all of the progress she continues to make going forward. 😌

About 90% of the cholesterol in our body is made within us.

You don’t have to worry as much about saturated fats being bad for you and clogging up your arteries.

Instead, look at the amount of processed carbs and hydrogenated vegetable oils you’re eating throughout the day.

Don’t worry about the eggs and bacon, instead, try limiting the excess sugars.

What feelings or emotions do you think of when I say the word "Weight Loss."

If you're like millions of other people, then my guess would be things like...

Frustration, overwhelmed, hopelessness, miserable, deprived.

I'm here to tell you it doesn't have to be like that.

Weight loss is about self-love and celebration.

We are celebrating all the things our bodies are capable of.

Working out, going for a walk, tasting food, hugging our loved ones, etc.

We can't hate our body towards sustainable long term weight loss.

Instead of thinking about how punishing a workout will be, just reframe it and think about how grateful you are to have this opportunity to be better.

Some people don't have that same opportunity as you. Don't let it go to waste.

We tend to overcomplicate things when setting goals.
Taking on too much at once can be overwhelming to keep up with.
Start small and focus on creating habits every day that get you to your goal.
Don't discount the significance of the daily pursuit
Albert Einstein said it himself...

I still struggle with this from time to time. We start a new project and try to get everything as perfect as possible before we publish it. But I'm here to give you permission to go and get it out there. You can always come back to it and improve it over time.

There's no value in something if no one sees it. Don't deprive this world of your work, just get it out there...you never know whose life you'll change.

I see a lot of people falling into the trap of fad diets. There is value in trying it out for yourself, but if you can sustain the "diet" you won't be able to sustain the results either.
