It's with heartfelt sadness that our dear classmate Mark Kalahele passed away on August 12, 2024 at Straub Hospital. Mark has been on the RHS ʻ73 Reunion Committee since 2008 (RHS ʻ73 35th Reunion) and has also been very instrumental in planning the Annual RHS ʻ73 Class Reunions, Las Vegas Reunions and the Reunion Potluck Picnics. He is missed dearly. The following is information on Mark's upcoming Celebration of Life:

We are the mighty Rough Riders! Our group yesterday was small, but we had a wonderful time!! We will do an annual picnic and next year we will meet again on August 17, 2025 at Manoa District Park!!

FYI, our dear Bruddah Mark Kalahele passed away on August 12, 2024. Mark was part of the RHS ‘73 Reunion Committee and will be missed. The ‘Ohana has not yet confirmed services. We will send out an email blast when we receive confirmation of Mark’s service. Yesterday at the picnic we did a short memorial in remembrance of Mark.

RHS ‘73 Las Vegas 70th Birthday Bash is tentatively set for the week of September 22, 2025!! Pat Sato lives in Vegas and he will be coordinating the Birthday Bash!! Stay tuned for more info on the website and on FB!

And to finally end a beautiful evening, our Alma Mater….

It is a traditional that classmates sing our class song “Somewhere” and also our Alma Mater to end the class reunion evening. Classmates first sung “Somewhere” on June 1, 1973 on the football field at Roosevelt High School and tonight we proudly sing it again after 50 years!!

Roosevelt High School class of 1973 had their 50th Reunion dinner at Jade Dynasty this evening!! It was a great success. Loved the friendship of classmates for the past 53 years!! And then some for those who also attended Intermediate and Elementary Schools together. Roosevelt, to thee our song shall be all hail, hail, hail….
