Halfway there! 36 low volume log cabin blocks, 36 all colors blocks. Now to get started on the 72 traditional blocks. Whew. I’m so excited!

The low volume log cabin blocks are underway! Hooray! 144 strips cut, 6/36 blocks done.

Unfortunately, we’ve had to cancel. We will host a zoom meeting Thursday, 2/5 at 5pm to discuss the quilt show. Please DM for the link if you aren’t already in the BCQG messenger thread.

Today’s charity sew has been cancelled due to weather. Please join us for a zoom meeting Thursday at 5pm. If you aren’t in the messenger chat but would like the zoom link, please DM thus page. Thank you for helping spread the word.

In the future, if the schools close for weather we will follow those guidelines as well.

All 36 dark log cabin blocks are finished! The low volume fat quarters have been starched and pressed, ready for cutting. 36 of those, then 72 traditional and it will be time for assembly. It’s fun to do a big project for yourself! Lori Holt fabrics from Riley Blake designs.

The side view is all 36 blocks stacked in the organizer. I’m gonna need a bigger box. 😂😂😂

Anyone sewing along with Pat Sloan and the Virginia Quilt Museum? Just finished the first 8 blocks of the “Silver Lake” sew along by Wendy Shepherd and Pat Sloan, benefitting the Virginia Quilt Museum. Pattern is accessible for all level quilters! I’m going patriotic this time!

Halfway finished with my all dark log cabin blocks. 18 more to go and then I’ll start on the 36 all neutral blocks. I’m really excited about those because they’re a mix of low volume prints and I just can’t wait to see how they turn out! Quilt will be somewhere around 96x96 and it should be a nice, heavy winter quilt with all these seams! Lori Holt fabrics.

Second set of six completed! Enjoying the snow/ice and working on my big log cabin project. 12/36 all dark blocks and 132 more in total but I’m not going to think about that right now. 🤪
