All day Winter Solstice celebration in Hot Springs, December 20th

Setting up my winter distilling area! It’s the alcove outside my studio, where the ‘feral’ cats now live! I want to put a 20,000 BTU heater in the studio, the 10,000 isn’t quite enough for this 100 year old building and I’ll put the 10,000 one in the alcove! A bit overkill but I’ll be toasty. There’s never enough time in summer to get all the distilling done!

I want to put a 20,000 btu mr heater in the studio, the 10,000 not quite enough with subzero temperatures and I’ll put the 10,000 BTU one in the alcove where I already had a T off the propane source in the studio capped and ready! That’ll be overkill for the small space but since I already have it. There’s never enough time in summer to do all my distilling 💜

Well dang, it’s now raining /sleeting on top of the snow which makes for some scary driving. So won’t be at market tomorrow 😢. I hate missing it but driving at 6am in the dark on icy roads is not my idea for getting my heart rate up.

People ask me frequently if I use tallow (the latest TikTok fad) in my organic and natural skincare. Besides being a 50+ year vegetarian, it’s also not the best ingredient. There are a lot better oils to use.
