A former patient walked in the door stating “You may not remember me, but little over 10years ago after two shoulder surgeries, I was labeled a failure by 2 different surgeons, and told I would never regain use of my shoulder. Dr Solka worked with me for long hard months of significant pain control, followed by stretching, then regaining use of my shoulder, then my arm. It’s been 9 years since we have moved out of the area, and not only does my arm still work just fine, but I never have had to seek any further treatment for my shoulder and arm since you fixed it!! Your knowledge, treatment approach, and efficiency is remembered daily, even from 2,000 miles away!”

It was 20 years ago to this day today, in the little town of Omaha, Nebraska that I heard the words “Doctor Matthew Solka” for the very first time. Since, it’s been 20 years of more letters behind my name than I ever thought I would obtain; more national credentials than I thought, even internationally recognized credentials. Treating patients not only in hospitals and clinics, but at professional sporting events, even professional performing arts events, and more. I am truly humbled to have the opportunity to treat patients, help so many lives, and feel the true reward for loving the work that you do.

The last 20 years has been a great ride!

I’d like to say looking forward to the next 20, but I’m enjoying it too much, it will be more than that.

At Adaptive PT, we are enrolled in a greater number of insurance programs and policies than most providers in the area, do not allow another facility to tell you that you are not, or that you “have to” receive treatment at any specific facility (which is also not legal for anyone to tell you where you have to go).

Having pain? Difficulty moving? Body aches that stop you from doing what you want?
Many people experience pain and think “I don’t need Physical Therapy”, “I do not need more exercise.”
The truth is, Physical Therapy is not exercise. Yes, occasionally PT utilizes exercise as one aspect of treatment. And that aspect is a very small percentage of what PT’s are capable of.
Physical Therapy does treat many types of pain, and many times never uses exercise!!
It is OK to utilize and think of Physical Therapy as a primary and direct form of treatment, especially since an individual DOES NOT need a referral!!
One local physician themselves stated “I didn’t think PT could help at all, I was skeptical, now I know I will be calling Dr Matt next time I can’t do what I need to without pain!”

What does a Physical Therapist do? Physical Therapist’s (or PTs) are health care professionals who know a lot about how the body moves and how to improve movement. More than many other professionals. And are a key factor in treating many types of pain, not just exercise. They treat people as young as little babies and as old as great-grandparents.

What is Carpel Tunnel Syndrome?
Carpal tunnel syndrome is a condition where compression of this space results in pressure on these tendons, blood vessels and nerve and pain in the wrist and hand, often with numbness and tingling in a specific area of the hand. Physical therapy, relative rest, bracing, icing, workstation changes and work task changes can all help relieve acute symptoms.
