Exciting News at Harmony Yoga!
Starting May 26, we will offer a new Gentle Vinyasa Hatha yoga class every Tuesday from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM at $15 per person.
I would also like to add that the cost is $10.00 for all first Responders( fire, police, EMTs), Veterans, and the armed forces.
My daughter, Kendra, is a Captain in the Maine Corps, and My Husband, Jeff Maguire, is a Combat Veteran. We support all of the first responders, veterans, and those in the armed forces who dedicate their lives to helping others:) Our Heroes!
This gentle class will feature vinyasa-hatha sequencing, with poses held for three to five breaths. The primary intention of this class is to emphasize alignment and understand its importance.
Our goal is to build strength and stamina gradually, making this class suitable for beginners to intermediate practitioners. The pace will be slower and more deliberate, focusing on relaxation, alignment, and increased mobility. The class will include standing, seated, and lying-down poses. Participants can expect gentle stretches for the hips, hamstrings, and quadriceps, using modifications and props to facilitate their practice.
We will incorporate appropriate breath work throughout the session. This gentle vinyasa hatha flow combines the alignment focus and slower pace of hatha yoga with the breathing transitions characteristic of vinyasa, creating a calmer, more accessible practice for everyone.
Key Characteristics of the Gentle Vinyasa Hatha Flow: - Slow movements - Focus on alignment and conscious transitions rather than speed - Poses are linked with breath, allowing more time to settle into each posture compared to faster-paced classes - Grounding practice that encourages students to really connect with each pose
Benefits: -
Improves flexibility, balance, and strength without overwhelming the body - Reduces stress and enhances mental focus –
Ideal for beginners, intermediates, or anyone seeking a calmer, introspective practice.
