🚨🚑FIRST AID – IMPORTANT POINTS (EXAM FOCUSED)
🚑 Basic Emergency Steps (ABCDE)

A – Airway: Clear airway, head-tilt chin-lift

B – Breathing: Look, Listen, Feel (≤10 sec)

C – Circulation: Check pulse, control bleeding

D – Disability: Check consciousness (AVPU)

E – Exposure: Expose patient, prevent hypothermia

👉 ABCDE is VERY common in MCQs

❤️ CPR – GOLDEN EXAM FACTS

Adult CPR Ratio: 30 compressions : 2 breaths

Compression rate: 100–120/min

Depth: 5–6 cm (adult)

Location: Center of chest (lower half of sternum)

Stop CPR only when: Help arrives / patient revives / rescuer exhausted

📌 Compression rate & ratio = favorite questions

🩸 BLEEDING (Hemorrhage)

Apply direct pressure

Elevate limb (if no fracture)

Use tourniquet (life-threatening bleed only)

DO NOT remove embedded objects

🔥 BURNS – QUICK POINTS

Cool burn with running water 20 minutes

Do NOT apply oil / toothpaste / butter

Cover with clean cloth

Rule of 9 used to calculate burn area

😵 UNCONSCIOUS PATIENT

Place in recovery position

Check airway & breathing

Never give food or water

⚡ SHOCK – KEY SIGNS

Cold, clammy skin

Low BP

Fast pulse

Restlessness

👉 Management: Lay flat, raise legs, keep warm, oxygen

🧠 COMMON EXAM SHORT NOTES

AVPU Scale: Alert, Voice, Pain, Unresponsive

GCS: Normal = 15, Severe head injury ≤8

Golden Hour: First 60 minutes after trauma

Triage Colors:

Red – Immediate

Yellow – Urgent

Green – Minor

Black – Dead

✔ Read numbers carefully (rate, depth, dosage)
✔ CPR, Shock, Burns = repeat topics
✔ Choose life-saving option first in MCQs
