Eve was rescued from doomed euthanasia, thanks to several wonderful ladies, this "golden girl" can live the rest of her life happy and well loved, with a soft place to sleep and a full belly.....and LOTS of love and petting and hugs. She will NEVER have to know the streets again! She is going to be a foster with us for as long as needed. She has found her way into our hearts, and I cry every time i look at her sweetness and get so mad that someone would treat her the way she had been treated. She was rescued from BARC, who believes she is to be 10 years old and approximately 30 lbs as of right now. She is heart worm (low) positive. She will need long term love and care to get her back to her beautiful self.... She was destined for euthanasia yesterday, but today is destined for love and happiness. Please continue to peek in on her journey to health and happiness, as i will be adding and updating photos often.
vet update 8/28/15:
today has been extremely emotional. we took Eve into the vet early this morning, and received a call, saying things were not looking good, due to the long list of troubles Eve has. We ran blood work on her, and thankfully, it came back looking good. As of right now, we are fighting things one at a time. First things first is to get some weight on this gal. She might never look nice and chunky, due to age and health problems, but shes gained 2.5 lbs in a few days being with us. Her teeth are all infected, which she was put on antibiotics to help with that, and might need a dental cleaning. She will be on a soft diet for the rest of her life. Her lymph nodes are enlarged, and because her blood work was good, they believe its cancer (she has some large lumps on her mammary glands). Cancer and heart worms were the biggest blow of the day, but if we can maintain her quality of life, she will remain here, in hospice fostering. She does have lots of obstacles to overcome, and possibly some surgeries (spay/dental/cancer), so if you'd like to make a donation, it would be much appreciated by this little gal.
vet update 9/22/15
Great news!! Eve-a (my boys have changed her name a bit, after they watched the movie Wall-E) has gained enough weight to have surgery! We will first be getting her spayed and tumors removed, on Oct 6th! No urinary infections and no enlarged heart. She looks good, considering all her known medical issues and everything is on the right track. Now to get funding to get this gal better so she can live out her golden years comfortably!!
