Happy Birthday to me!
Well another year older another year sober!
This pic came up on my FB memories today and I’m
re-posting it.
It was significant for me bc it shows my 13 year chip-
I couldn’t believe that I had passed over a decade of not drinking!
Ffwd to today…
Today is 18 ears!
not bragging-
just stating a fact
Last year I ran my first and second marathon..
18 years ago I couldn’t even walk.
I was in a hospital bed not knowing where or even who I was.
I was clinging to life,
embarrassed,bruised,
confused,angry, scared,depressed….hopeless.
Today I have a few more gray hairs and a few more wrinkles but I also have few more years of wisdom behind me and many more years of hope and possibilities in front of me.
Who knew I would live long enough to expect my first grandbaby in a few months?!
I can’t control getting older but
I can control how I choose to treat myself and others along the way .
Thanks to a very supportive husband, who loves me to the moon and back, my family and many friends, I have many more years to look forward to.
Life is good 😊
