08/25/2025
Today marks the beginning of Black Breastfeeding Week, observed from August 25–31.
This week is a powerful celebration of health, culture, and community in the Black experience. It highlights the systemic barriers and cultural challenges Black families face when it comes to breastfeeding, while also creating space for support, education, empowerment, and pride. At its core, Black Breastfeeding Week is about healing, justice, joy, and the reclamation of breastfeeding.
This year's theme, "Boots on the Ground: Rooted in Breastfeeding Success, Grounded in Community Support," honors the strength found in both individual success and collective care. It’s a call to action and a celebration of community-driven impact.
