Annuities are often misunderstood and incorrectly sold by advisors looking for commissions. Sadly many teachers put blind trust into their advisors and are sold products that may not be right for them. Annuities do serve a purpose and can be a good product, but it depends by person, their financials goals and suitability. One size does not fit all with annuities.

Schoolteachers and other government and nonprofit workers are often at the mercy of confusing contracts tied to arcane investments, sold by representatives who may not understand them.
