Last of sweet potato vines last week, today LabLab leaves are being enjoyed. The LabLab is still going strong and is blooming and seed pods are developing.

It has been a wonderfully bountiful season of Sweet Potato vines and leaves and LabLab leaves, Moringa and Malabar. There might be one more month left of fresh greens. This beautiful garden has fed over 25 adult rabbits and at any given time 24-48 grow outs four times a week, the rest was fresh grasses or hay or... This summer I have not had to keep the wicking system going it is now time to seed it and get ready for winter.

Our Little Piece - Peace of Heaven

We decided we wanted out of the city; to a retreat, a quiet, happy place that we had desired for a while. That is when Journey's End was born, because like its name, our searching, our journey, had come to an end. Life is a journey, that is filled with joy, heartache, lessons learned, friendships lost and made, hardships, happiness and no matter what it will always be a journey of making our way, creating a path of discovery of who we are and what we want. So, enjoy your journey and wherever it brings you.

At Journey’s End here in Texas Hill Country we have of course our many dogs, a few chickens, snakes and the cameras have shown we have coyotes, deer, roadrunners, doves, raccoons, foxes, bobcats and some other wonderful local creatures.

Some of our most endearing family members are our rabbits ~ Emma’s Loves Rabbitry. We have our pedigreed - pure bred Siamese Satins Frick and Katy, and our pedigreed - composite TAMUKs Jazzy and Jake. Our focus is to provide meat rabbits for eating and showing. We have so much fun with these so very soft furry critters. Anytime the kits arrive we are awed at how cute they are. Knowing that one day they will be replaced with new kits soon.

My journey, though I did not know it at the time started in 2005 with a botched simple surgery. Little did we know how much it would change all of us as a family and not for the good. Fast forward to 2014, I was in denial until June 16th that I was hopelessly addicted to five opioid drugs prescribed by pain doctors to handle the extreme pain form the surgery in 2005. A series of events led to me to go cold turkey, diving into 36 days of hell while the drugs fought with my mind and body to not let me go. Fear of the pain and my mind telling it wouldn’t hurt to stay on the drugs tried hard to keep me in bo***ge. The only strength I had was to lean on my knowledge of God’s healing power and my husband Charley.

Once I was able to think straight and function a new journey started. A way to live with pain and no drugs, a study of all the wonderful plants God gave us. That is when Three Hearts Teas and Tinctures was born. Creating custom herbal blends, by using your information taking into account your medical history, in tea form or as a tincture has become a passion for me. Helping others to feel better is a calling and I am grateful that God has given me the chance to do it. Whether it is pain or allergies, a cold, or to support your immune system herbs can help alleviate the symptoms making things a bit more bearable. The teas and tinctures I provide are not intended to diagnose, cure, or prevent any disease. I am not a doctor, I'm not licensed to diagnose or prescribe.
