⛨ In honor of February being Cancer Prevention Month ⛨:
Yesterday we chose to highlight Colorectal cancer, the 4th most common cancer in men and women and the 4th leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the U.S., with a higher impact in the Black/African American community.
We hosted a fun, interactive Myth vs. Fact tabling event (with free giveaway prizes 🎉) to promote colorectal cancer awareness among UHCOP students, staff, and faculty.
We discussed how to address common misconceptions and effectively counsel patients on the importance of early screening, along with lifestyle and dietary modifications for prevention. Thank you to everyone who stopped by; we appreciated the meaningful conversations, thoughtful questions, and the opportunity to learn from you as well🤗
Thank you for helping us work toward our goal of empowering our community to educate patients, family, and friends because prevention starts with awareness 💙
