Racism is a stressor for Black people. A very consistent stressor. Studies show that racism is related to changes in DNA structure in relation to age related disease and death. Black Americans endure exposure to this risk and "yet like dust, we rise".

Centering ourselves can feel wrong when survival taught us to disappear.
From childhood to our professional lives, many of us learned how to adapt to a world shaped by a white worldview.
That conditioning didn’t stop at work. It shaped how we show up everywhere.
The guilt that shows up when we try to center ourselves isn’t personal failure.
It’s learned survival. And survival is not the same as healing or thriving.

Centering Us is a conversation for Black men and women ready to choose themselves without guilt.
Join the conversation tomorrow. Comment Us for more info.
