The “good job” with the pension and benefits??? Yeah, I left it. Not because I’m irresponsible. But because I finally understood that my worth isn’t measured by how much I can endure in places that don’t value me.

This year of 2025 in America, 400k Black women have lost or left their jobs. And we need this reminder, we are MORE than our productivity. Our potential doesn’t live in spaces that drain us.

I stopped exposing myself to misaligned environments and it was the # decision I ever made. If you’re ready to reclaim your joy, I’m building something for us. 💛 Follow me for more on it.

I already know this topic is going to ruffle some edges… but we’re grown, right?
If being real about how “unprofessional” gets weaponized costs me followers, then sis… they weren’t my people anyway.

Here’s the truth: not every correction is racist, but the standard of professionalism was never designed with Black women in mind. That’s why our tone gets policed, our hair gets questioned, and our confidence gets mislabeled as attitude.

This isn’t about blame, it’s about awareness. Because the moment you stop internalizing someone else’s bias as your flaw… you start breathing again.

If this hit you in the chest, you’re exactly who I had in mind.
Let’s talk about it in the comments.

Texas tried a mid-decade do-over on the congressional map that would have quietly cut the power of Black and Brown voters. Yesterday, the NAACP and Lawyers’ Committee sued, MALDEF and LULAC, fought for Latino voters, and the Legal Defense Fund led a whole coalition of Black-led orgs, churches, sororities, and voting rights groups to file briefs explaining exactly how this was racial gerrymandering.

A three-judge panel in El Paso listened. Judge Jeffrey Brown and Judge David Guaderrama agreed there was ‘substantial evidence’ that Texas sorted voters by race, not just politics, and blocked the map for 2026. Judge Jerry Smith dissented.

For Black women in Texas, this is not just ‘politics.’ This redistricting is not just moving lines. They are deciding whether your side of town has power or just participation.

If you have been asking “Is it me? Am I overreacting?” every time work leaves you drained, anxious, or doubting yourself, I made something for you.

I created a free mini ebook, Decode the System: Workplace Edition, to help you:
- Name what is really happening at work instead of blaming yourself
- Spot patterns of gaslighting, overwork, and “strong Black” conditioning that push you to carry more than your share
- Start shifting from survival mode to strategy, boundaries, and joy.

This is your permission slip to stop thinking you are the issue and start seeing the system clearly.

Asking for more, asking for what you deserve doesn’t make you less grateful. You can be grateful and still make room for more of what God has for you. Be mindful who you listen too.

Just wanted to remind you that other peoples opinions are just that… other peoples opinions. Believe in yourself. 🫶🏽

Be mindful of what you watch and how it excites you or activates you.

But kindness to people who are committed to your demise means that you are not on your own side.
