Lydia has been learning to use the restroom. The past 3 days we have had minimal accidents and she is doing very well!! Sour gummy worms are a great positive reinforcement

She also hasn’t been sick! That’s a blessing in its self.

Speech has increased. She is now jumping off of the bottom stair (with assistance).

Lydia’s fascination with her sibilings are unreal. She anticipates their arrival from school when they are gone and is super happy when they finally make it home.

Hi friends, Lydia has had a lot of ups and downs this past year. We would like to apologize for our disappearance. Mommy fell under a lot of stress and is recovering.

Lydia did catch COVID in June 2020. Since then we have had a lot of stays at her home away from home. Each stay gets a bit easier, both Lydia and mommy know what to expect and learn from each visit. We want to thank the healthcare workers that are our regulars, y’all make the stays a bit easier.

For Lydia’s 2nd birthday we spent half of it in the hospital. That was a discharge day from recovering from 4 viruses.

Even though Lydia may at times be bound and tied to many tubes and hoses, we try not to let that interfere with how we experience the world. Being a little girl who sometimes requires oxygen is hard. Especially if you want to constantly explore the ground around you.

For the past week Lydia has finally started to take things by mouth.

Not only had she started, we can’t seem to get her to stop! She has not needed to use her gtube for a week a 2 days. She has been able to wake up at night blinking she is hungry. Speech is elated that she has picked it up so quickly.

We will still leave the gtube until further notice. We are just so happy Lydia has been wanting food.

We started purées and she is tolerating them very well. Her favorite are the Mexican chips from the paletero who passes by!
