So this was my first attempt at pita 🥙 bread. I used which I learn is WAY more nourishing than other flours. It is slightly reddish and has nice taste even plain.
I have an older oven so the east didn’t distribute well, my pockets on my pitas are very thin and the bottom is really thick. Later down the road I may get a pizza stone to see if it’ll help with baking the bottom half.
Either way I’m proud. I’m going to try next

Down 10lbs going into the new year. I did a water and full body detox. Today is day 7. I won’t lie and say it wasn’t a hard week BUT I’ve had the most energy in the morning that I’ve had in awhile. I’m SUPER HUNGRY THO 🤣A water cleanse is very extreme but I knew if I could do this I could just start myself back into working out and staying DETERMINED. The seven days was about losing weight but more so seeing if I could stick with it.
Cheers to keeping it up in 2023 and learning more about plant based meals and understanding my body.

Not sure what to call this but it was my try at .based.journey curry with king trumpet mushrooms. I used purole yams 🍠 so that’s why my curry turned out a little darker but I added sweet yellow onions, chives, carrots, garlic, and celery to it. For the sides we have rice and black beans seasoned with lime and dill, then plantains and cabbage.

So I made this Saturday but it didn’t last long. This quinoa salad is way to make and good. Very refreshing and filling.
Ingredients:
1-2 cups of quinoa ( depending on who is eating)
1 packages of cherry tomatoes
1 cucumber 🥒
1 bell pepper
1/2 red onion 🧅
1 cup of chickpeas
1/2 cup of Pepperocinis
Fresh lime + lemon juice
Season with Tajin

This is a picture of the dates I used in the I simple just added some water and let them soak overnight. They are sweet but not shocking sweet.

I made flaxseed gel for my hair and I must say I love it compared to the bell I was using. It’s a lot looser, not and thick to cause build up, and it dried quicker too.
I added some drops of castor oil just for some scalp and hair nourishment. Placing it in the freezer until I need it again. I’ll take it out the night before and thaw it out.

I made some sea moss gel with soursop, pineapple, and dates. It’s actually a lot easier than I thought and can’t believe I paid someone else $25+ for a jar smaller than mine at one point. NEVER again.
Trying to get a system going. We are gonna try a water cleanse over Christmas break and I’m considering going alkaline or completely plant based. We will see, either way the sea moss gel is REALLY good.
Soursop is sweet and I probably didn’t need the dates, but the natural sweetness helps because sea moss isn’t the best tasting stuff 🤣

So I made Snicker Doodle cookies for the first time and they are BAYANNNNGIN’🤣 I was worried because I used applesauce instead of eggs of course and the dough wasn’t doughin’ as it should. I let it sit in the fridge for an hour. It was kinda sticky so I used olive oil in my hands to roll them into balls.
12 minutes is the perfect time for these babies. Idc how big you make them. If you want them crunchy go for 15 minutes. I like my cookies soft and fluffy.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups flour (I’ll use almond from now on)
3/4 cups applesauce
1 tsp tartar
1 tsp baking soda
Vanilla extract (I never measure it)
1 cup butter (vegan)
1/2 cup of turbinado
Cinnamon

I’m super late but we officially had our first despite the Hawaiian rolls, that was a flop on my part.
I made baked beans, cornbread stuffing, garlic rosemary mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, kale greens, and fried oyster mushrooms.
Definitely was a success, I will say don’t go cheap on vegan cheeze. I know the prices are brutal but I purchased Walmart plant based shredded cheese and it didn’t even melt.

Retwisted my babies on my own and I must say they look JUICY 😍 I won’t even try to stunt and and act like it went perfectly.
I’m right handed and luckily only retwist a few on my left side backwards. Idk how people use combs…I had to call for help to get the comb untangled.
I bought an “aloe + flaxseed” gel but it’s super thick and kinda making my scalp itch. I think I’m going to make my own flaxseed gel. I also wonder if you can use okra gel…not sure if that’ll cause mold tho.
Either way I’m excited with my growth. I think I’ll start retwisting on my own and every few months go to the shop for a style.

I have been trying for 3 or 4 years to successfully lose weight. Like everyone else, I have tired to stick with random diets and always fell back into horrible eating habits. This past spring a couple friends motivated me get out of my funk. Most of my clothes were uncomfortable, I was squeezing to get into jeans, couldn’t sleep, and just felt like a sloth. I was tired of feeling uncomfortable in my skin, it was saddening to never feel 100 percent when I got dressed to go out.
I started going to a fitness class in December and continued to hike and workout on the weekends. I definitely was out of shape and had days were I became lazy. If it wasn’t for my friends, I’m sure I would’ve completely stopped. I can admit my heart wasn’t in it as it should to get to the point I wanted to be. These past couple of months I have tried to be more consistent. From last year to now I have been playing.
I started to see changes in September and It really motivated me. That was proof to me that goals take time, nothing happens overnight. My waist was starting to slime down, I was loosing weight in my face. This really gave me the push I always needed to keep going. I had been eating healthy for awhile and cut out a lot of processed and fried foods. I decided with a co-worker to try out the keto diet. It took a week or so for my body to transition but it hasn’t been as HARD and HORRIBLE as I imaged. Honestly, it has kept me on track more as far as eating goes.
With the rearranging of this page I want this to be a motivation for myself and others that decide to follow. The main message if any at all I want to get across to everyone is simple:
“With any goal, it takes time. You will have days when you slack off and eat wrong, but that’s okay. You have to remember that you’re human and just because you fall off track doesn’t mean you cant get back on and shoot towards the goal.”
I hope my page inspires everyone not to just switch up a diet or to just workout more. I want people to realize no matter what goal you have you can get there, all you have to do is continue to try.
So welcome to the WORLD of SUSIE and my journey. I don’ t want this to JUST be a weight loss goal for a period of time. I want to make this a LIFESTYLE. I hope we can MOTIVATE each other to make the changes me need.
