šŸ’œDEPRESSION TIPS:
Shower. Not a bath, a shower.
Use water as hot or cold as you like. You don’t even need to wash. Just get in under the water and let it run over you for a while. Sit on the floor if you gotta.

Moisturize everything.
Use whatever lotion you like.
Unscented? Dollar store lotion? Fancy 48 hour lotion that makes you smell like a field of wildflowers? Use whatever you want, and use it all over your entire dermis.

Put on clean, comfortable clothes.
Put on your favorite underwear.
Those ridiculous boxers you bought last year with jalapeƱos on the butt? Put them on.

Drink cold water.
Use ice. If you want, add some mint or lemon for an extra boost.

Clean something.
Doesn’t have to be anything big. Organize one drawer of a desk. Wash five dirty dishes. Do a load of laundry. Scrub the bathroom sink.

BLAST MUSIC.
Listen to something upbeat and dancey and loud, something that’s got lots of energy. Sing to it, DANCE šŸ’ƒ to it, even if you suck at both.

Make food.
Don’t just grab a granola bar to munch. Take the time and make food. Even if it’s ramen. Add something special to it, like a soft boiled egg or some veggies. Prepare food, it tastes way better, and you’ll feel like you accomplished something.

Make something.
Write a short story or a poem, draw a picture, color a picture, fold origami, crochet or knit, sculpt something out of clay, anything artistic. Even if you don’t think you’re good at it. Create.

Go outside.
Take a walk. Sit in the grass. Look at the clouds. Smell flowers. Put your hands in the dirt and feel the soil against your skin.

Call someone. Call a loved one, a friend, a family member, call a chat service if you have no one else to call. Talk to a stranger on the street. Have a conversation and listen to someone’s voice. If you can’t bring yourself to call, text or email or whatever, just have some social interaction with another person. Even if you don’t say much, listen to them. It helps.

Cuddle your pets if you have them/can cuddle them.
Take pictures of them. Talk to them. Tell them how you feel, about your favorite movie, a new game coming out, anything.

May seem small or silly to some, but this list keeps people alive.

*** At your absolute best you won’t be good enough for the wrong people. But at your worst, you’ll still be worth it to the right ones. Remember that. Keep holding on.

*** In case nobody has told you today I love you and you are worth your weight and then some in gold, so be kind to yourself and most of all keep pushing on!!!!

Find something to be grateful for!

May I please get 2 friends or family members to copy and re-post? I am trying to demonstrate that someone is always listening.

Just two. Any two.
Say done.

July 11, 2018 Today was my 7 year anniversary!I knew it was coming, and yet it snuck up on me. My lesions are stable, no progression. But old lesions continually play new tricks. It took seven years to grow all this hair, seven years and I don’t look like I’ve gotten any better mobility wise. But I’ve actually gotten feeling back in my right leg, the partially paralyzed one...that’s huge. I learned from my niece Margaux that it takes 240 muscles to walk and I think I am at least at 205 now, maybe 215. But fatigue and spasticity still keep me prisoner, plus, the new tricks. I still clean up pretty good, but most days I look like a bum lol. If anyone asks, though, do it. If you’re considering HSCT, get it done as soon as possible. I may have learned about it just a little too late for it to ā€œsaveā€ me, but it saved me…my blood work is damn near perfect, and I don’t know where I would be if I hadn’t gotten HSCT done when I did. I’m forever grateful to Dr. F and his team at Pirogov. šŸ’œMove, Live, Prosper

Sometimes, actually a lot of times, I’ll challenge myself to put my weight on the outside of my left foot and keep my left knee out because that knee is having so many issues right now and it’ll buckle in a heartbeat, and oh ā€œkeep your tailbone tuckedā€, never mind the right knee is caving in a little, not important, but ā€œyou still need to pour your drinkā€ 😳

And then I get about three seconds of pouring before I know that it’s gonna get dangerous, then I stop and tell myself ā€œOK, you did a good job, now sit your šŸ‘ down before you make a mess.ā€œ lol

You gotta just do what you can do, and give yourself credit ļæ¼

Hi, Good morning and Good afternoon!

I finally got my Rituxan infusion🌟

It was hard😤You really have to fight and self advocate for anything medically. Why is this other drug your preferred drug insurance company? I've never heard of it, so now I'm just supposed to take it because it's your preference, insurance company? You haven't even told me why.... and what do
you even know about it anyway?

Or I'm just supposed to go back to your "tried and true" medication because they all supposedly do the same thing? That drug doesn't make me feel good, so I should have the option to try the drug that I want, and, being a medically insured person in the U.S. of A., I should be covered.

But that's OK, I'll put in the extra effort, make the calls, to get it covered.

But I get what I want, whether it's worth it or notšŸ˜‚cuz who knows, Truxima might’ve worked better lol. All I know is, Rituxan felt like magic going in my veins, it’s fixed some issues I’ve had for a long time and I’m standing straighter than before. I hope that it helps me keep progressing.

So I guess I’m back on the Infusion train, but whatever makes me feel better. Not to mention they’ve got me set up in some pretty sweet digs šŸ˜†ļæ¼

And I get an MRI later this week so I’ll update everyone on those results when I get them.ļæ¼

All right, well… This was why I ā€œmissedā€ my actual stem cell day. I was trying to post this fundraiser on the same day, and thought that I’d be able to, but I mentioned the hurricane in my story and triggered a vetting process through GoFundMe, which put it on hold.

So here it is - I started another GoFundMe because I’d like to go to Mexico for a rituximab infusion. I’ll spare you the details here as it’s all in the GoFundMe text as well as the YouTube video description, but I wanted it before the hurricane, and it’s absolutely necessary now.

My stemmies have done all that they can do, and now I need a re-up. It’s not stem cell, but something that can make me feel better.

The video is now out of date…I’ve got power, I hope everyone else does too, good Lord.. but the damage has been done lol. Any help you can give would be appreciated. xx

I missed my 6 year HSCT anniversary yesterday!

7/11/18 I received my stem cells and will forever be grateful to Dr. Fedorenko and his team. Although MS is still very much a part of my life, I hate to think of where I would be without that opportunity. I will continue to fight every day because I can.šŸ’ŖšŸ¼ļæ¼

So is walking better?

I used to get this question a lot more right after treatment (HSCT/stem cell). The overall answer was Yes, because I was headed for a wheelchair before I got it. And currently the answer is eh, kinda but not really…

I’m still partially paralyzed on the right side, so - limited hip mobility and no dorsiflexion in my right ankle, which means I can’t lift my toes (something I should work on more often but I don’t).

I tend to focus on strength exercises, which have worked well for me, I am much stronger than I used to be. You can always see the results with those exercises. And the sleeve did make my leg a lot stronger, make it move better overall.

But sitting and working on the tedious movements of my ankle lifting and things like that I always neglect…because they’re boring and hard at the same time.

ā€œChelsey, you should look into a walker/rollatorā€

Yep, I hear you, I’ve used one, but I move around too much, I try to do too much, that a walker just isn’t practical. Plus my driveway is on an incline, so a walker is honestly just way more cumbersome than me just walking with a cane. It looks more difficult, but it would take more energy to go to the backseat and take the walker in and out of the car every time I go somewhere.

In addition, that upright walker is only for at home, and I actually have issues using that too… but I won’t bore you with that here. If you wanna know, message me.

But that’s another reason why I like the cane, I prefer to be upright, even if it’s a little slanted šŸ˜† I can’t be upright with a walker.

Long story short, the cane is what works.

When I find a better option, I’ll let you know. Neural sleeve - not it unfortunately.

So I abandoned the sleeve…

It did give me more power, which was really useful, but it didn’t help with my hyper extension on my right knee, or with my dorsiflexion on my right ankle. Because of my partial paralysis, I don’t have the hip mobility to do the exercises they put in the app provided with the sleeve. So the monthly expense just started to not be worth it.

I’m glad I tried it though! Not sure you can tell in the pictures but it did make my leg grow significantly. The right was always slightly smaller but now they’re both the same size - score.

And it was worth a try.

and we’re still working, as always.

Bye Bye Brace šŸ‘‹šŸ½

Hello CIONIC

This neural sleeve is a game changer. It has grown my little wimpy right leg in a matter of a day lol.. It helps me sleep better, I instantly felt a difference in my balance… I knew it would make a difference and it has.

I’m working on getting footage of my walking, which is still a little dicey. The purpose of the neural sleeve is to help my movements, so it wants to help me walk, but fires when I’m not necessarily ready all the time. But all that’s for another post.

This was after about a week of using it, and I didn’t have my phone that day, so the neural sleeve wasn’t even on. I tried wearing my brace at one point, but it keeps my leg, hyper extended at all times, so I literally can’t go back.

Only forward… Always.

But the sleeve has made my leg so much stronger that it bends and walks so much better, even without the sleeve on. And that’s when I did all of this… My heaviest dead lift yet, 105 šŸ’ŖšŸ½
I tried for 115 but couldn’t quite pull it . Maybe next time.

2024, we ready.

And landmines… Dennis and I are talking the whole time because he insists that he is not helping but I am convinced that he is. If you can catch that face he makes at the very very end, that’s his proof that he’s not helping, it is not AT ALL convincingšŸ˜†
