Hanging out at the aiport, people watching while I wait for my flight to board. As a former corporate frequent flier I used to dread this time of the year, and with good reason! The stress of frequent travel and the constant exposure to sick people, combined with the dry reccirculated air on the airplanes really tapped danced on my immunity! Do you want to know one of my super secrets for staying healthy while traveling?

Drink water! Lots of it! Water is vital for keeping your mucus membranes lubricated. Your mucus membranes in your digestive and respiratory tracts are one of your first lines of defense to expel invading bacteria and viruses!

I like to bring a reusable thermos with me. You can go to any coffee shop and ask for some hot water (they are happy to give it to you for free). I also like to pack a few tea bags (green tea or pao d'arco) which I'll let steep in the terminal. Both are great for supporting the immune system. Another great option is to carry a small bottle of lemon essential oil - one drop is all you need for a great citrus blast and some Vitamin C, D and E!
