OUR CARE:
We hire caregivers with "heart" and compassion and train them in all aspects of care for residents with Alzheimer's Disease and all types of Dementia. Providing 24 hour care with awake staff makes the residents lives more comfortable. CARE STAFF:
Each Evergreen Cottages location has a Nurse on Duty in the building and not "on Call" as is the case with so many smaller communities. While State regulations Do Not require a nurse on staff, We believe this to be the Right Way to care for our seniors. Medication Technicians trained in the proper dispensing of medications are on staff and ensure that medications are taken on time by our residents and that proper records are kept, and medications are safely locked in our Medication Room. Certified Nurse Aids and Caregivers are hired and trained in best practices and the proper care of residents with Alzheimer's and Dementia. Ongoing training in the best techniques is given to all our staff. We are Universal Workers which means we all perform all duties. Cooking, Cleaning, Housekeeping, Laundry Assistance with Daily Living Needs and of course, the most important, Exercises for the Body and Mind, through Stimulating Games, Entertainment, music and social activities. - We love our work and Love to care for our residents in our "Home away from Home"
ASSISTANCE WITH ADL's:
We provide the support and care our residents need, particularly Assistance with Activities of Daily Living. These include Bathing, Dressing, Grooming, Eating, Rehydration, Medication Reminders and Toileting to mention just a few. All this is done in a supportive and dignified manner, encouraging residents to continue doing the activities they feel comfortable doing themselves. FOOD AND NUTRITION:
We provide Three Hearty Home Cooked, fresh meals a day, with lots of variety, taking into account our residents Nutritional needs and their food preferences. Snacks, Juice, Tea and Coffee are always available and we encourage a high level of hydration. MEDICATION MANAGEMENT:
Our Staff is Trained in the proper management, safe storage, dispensing and timely medication reminders using an Electronic Medication management software. ALL INCLUSIVE PRICING:
Evergreen Cottages understands that families need a high level of care for their loved ones inflicted with Dementia, Alzheimer's Disease, Traumatic brain injury or any other condition they are diagnosed with. The Last thing they need is a community Nickle and Diming them when it comes to the Cost of Care. We include All Levels of Care and do not raise the cost based on any particular residents care needs. Laundry, Linens and all care needs are included in the monthly rate, with the exception of Incontinence fees. These are based on a residents needs as they progress in their journey with dementia. ROOM TYPES:
Private rooms with private baths and Showers are available, along with Shared Companion Rooms with a Shared Bath and Shower for Two People, for those who prefer to have a room mate or for Couples wishing to live together at Evergreen Cottages. VISIT OUR COMMUNITIES:
We took care in Designing our "NeverLost"(TM) "DementiaSmart"(TM) Buildings to create Livable Communities. The Specially Designed Building allows residents to feel more secure and navigate around the space with confidence that they will never be Lost. Special Building features such as positioning of the Kitchen, Activity Room, Great Room and all the usable spaces the residents would need to access the most. Lighting is designed to maximize the daylight and reduce the confusion with Sun downing for residents.
