Our journey opened my eyes and fueled my passion to help others find answers sooner. No one should have to suffer in silence or wait years for relief. Now, I dedicate my work to guiding families and individuals toward better breathing, improved sleep, and lasting wellness—naturally.

Headaches. Jaw tension. Clicking when you chew.

These can all be signs of TMJ dysfunction.

Many people assume they simply have to live with the discomfort, but therapeutic massage can often help reduce the muscle tension that contributes to TMJ symptoms.

TMJ massage focuses on releasing tight muscles in the jaw, neck, and surrounding areas to support better movement and less pain.

If you’ve been experiencing jaw discomfort, massage therapy may help.

QUIZ TIME!

Which muscle plays the biggest role in helping keep your airway open during sleep?

A) Jaw muscles
B) Tongue
C) Cheeks

Take your guess before reading 👀

Answer: B — The tongue.

Your tongue helps support the airway while you sleep. When tongue posture or muscle function isn’t ideal, the tongue can fall back toward the airway and contribute to things like:

• snoring
• mouth breathing
• disrupted sleep

This is one of the reasons myofunctional therapy focuses so much on the tongue and the surrounding oral muscles.

They play a bigger role in breathing and airway health than most people realize.

Did you know your tongue is made up of 8 pairs of muscles?

That’s 16 muscles working together to help control breathing, swallowing, speaking, and airway stability.

Because the tongue plays such a big role in these everyday functions, when those muscles aren’t working the way they should, it can contribute to things like:

• mouth breathing
• snoring
• jaw tension
• swallowing difficulties
• airway issues

Myofunctional therapy focuses on strengthening and retraining these muscles so they can function the way they were designed to.

Sometimes improving breathing and oral function starts with the muscles we rarely think about.

Happy Pi Day! 🥧 (3.14)

Pi is known as a mathematical constant, but there’s also a simple “formula” for healthy breathing and oral posture.

The goal is a relaxed resting posture where:

• Lips are closed
• The tongue rests on the palate
• Teeth are slightly apart
• Breathing happens through the nose

These small habits help support airway health, muscle balance, and more efficient breathing.

Sometimes the simplest formulas make the biggest difference.

Quick self-check 👇

Many people experience these symptoms but don’t realize they may be connected to how the muscles of the mouth and airway are functioning.

Dry mouth in the morning, mouth breathing, jaw tension, snoring, and teeth grinding can all be signs that the airway may need more support.

Myofunctional therapy focuses on improving breathing patterns, oral posture, and muscle coordination to support better sleep and overall health.

Just because something is common doesn’t mean it’s normal.

Mouth breathing, frequent jaw tension, nightly snoring, and waking up feeling exhausted are often dismissed as everyday issues. But these symptoms can sometimes point to underlying airway or muscle function concerns.

Myofunctional therapy focuses on improving breathing patterns, oral posture, and muscle coordination to support better sleep, comfort, and overall health.

Before you fall asleep tonight, check in with your breathing.

Your nose is designed to filter, warm, and humidify the air you breathe. Nasal breathing also supports healthy airway function and more restful sleep.

If you notice yourself breathing through your mouth at night, it may be a sign your airway needs more support.

Small awareness can lead to healthier habits over time.

Quick pro tip for your jaw.

Your teeth should only touch when you are chewing or swallowing.

The rest of the time, your jaw muscles should be relaxed with:
• lips gently closed
• teeth slightly apart
• tongue resting on the roof of the mouth

Many people keep their teeth touching throughout the day without realizing it, which can lead to unnecessary muscle tension.

A relaxed jaw supports healthier muscle habits and breathing patterns.

Did you know the average person swallows 1,000–2,000 times every day?

Each swallow involves a coordinated pattern of muscles in the tongue, lips, and throat.

When swallowing patterns are inefficient or compensating, it can contribute to muscle tension and oral posture issues.

Myofunctional therapy helps retrain these patterns to support healthier muscle function and breathing.
