Metatarsal stress fractures ! They hurt , sometimes for weeks ! This can be a nagging vague pain in the midfoot. There is usually no inciting trauma but recent start of a workout routine, overtraining, or biomechanical problems can lead to these.

Often not visible on X-ray even after 2 weeks from onset. Base fractures sometimes require an MRI to visualize .
