Repost• I can’t believe we are almost 6 months breastfeeding successfully! I never thought I couldn’t do it or it wouldn’t work out because I was still breastfeeding my daughter so I knew my body was capable.

I did tell myself I was going to exclusively pump instead because I felt out of touch with my body and my self being pregnant so long. When he came into this world mommy mode came on (never really turns off) and I immediately changed my feeding plan and breastfed.

It’s not easy making these decisions because they are my personal preference vs thinking what’s best for my baby. I think that’s the toughest part of motherhood, the “Sacrifices” we make and putting ourselves in the middle of the line and our babies first. I also think that is kinda what’s so beautiful about motherhood. The fact we naturally just love our kids so much we put ourselves last for them.

I want to mention as well just because you didn’t choose to breastfeed doesn’t mean you don’t put your baby first. Breastfeeding is just one experience in the whole entire journey of motherhood. Put yourself first as you should sometimes momma. We deserve just has much! ❤️

What is a Lotus Birth???
A lotus birth is when the umbilical cord is left attached to the placenta until it falls away on its own without being clamped and cut. This means the baby stays connected to the placenta for longer than with a typical birth.‌
