The goal of the Health Awareness Program is to create awareness for hypertension and diabetes screening by checking blood pressure and sugar of individuals at risk in the Onitsha Community and advice on medical intervention. Since its formation, Onitsha America Medical Mission has served over Five Thousand Onitsha indigenes and we have the records to prove it. The medical mission provides free screening for high blood pressure and diabetes. These free screenings take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St Steven’s Anglican Church and Emmanuel Anglican Church on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays respectively. In addition to the free screening, we also provide free vitamins and pain medications. These vitamins and the pain medications are all over the counter (OTC) that can be bought from any grocery or drug store. Your donations of vitamins, Tylenol, Aspirin, Advil and Motrin are appreciated. Also we welcome donations of the lancets and testing strips for Diabetes screening. Monetary donations to purchase medications are also accepted. All testing and dispensation of medications are done by trained and qualified doctors and nurses. DONATIONS:
