Nick Finnegan Counseling Center

Nick Finnegan Counseling Center A unique, non-profit providing personalized service and excellence in counseling at affordable rates

Established in 2008, the organization was renamed Nick Finnegan Counseling Center in 2011 as a way for Bill and Susan Finnegan to honor their late son, Nick, who passed away several years earlier in an automobile accident. Support from family, friends and counselors helped the Finnegans grieve their loss. Because of this support, they found faith to move forward as a family, and in turn, wanted to give similar support to others. Along with the Finnegan family, NFCC raises awareness about and provides cost-effective mental health resources to Houstonians.

Her daughter wanted to make a gratitude box because she wants people to reflect about how they are living and what they are grateful for😆🥰. “As a mom I wanted to help her bring this idea to life in an easy and tangible way for guests that come into our house this season! Seeing them write notes of gratitude makes her really happy!” says, Mary Elizabeth.

This is something that you can easily do at home with your family or in a classroom with your kids. You can add something every day or simply add something every week or maybe even just once for the month but read it over and over again to remind yourself and ground yourself in your gratitude.

Today is Election Day! Voting carries emotional weight, not just political significance.

It activates the parts of us tied to identity, values, belonging, and care for our community.

That means your nervous system might be a little louder today.

You don’t need to minimize that.
You don’t need to power through it.
You don’t need to argue to prove you care.

You can show up, use your voice, and also rest.
You can participate without absorbing it all.

You matter here.
