I had an AHA moment about why so many women in midlife feel distant, dissatisfied, overwhelmed, and confused..
For generations, women were taught to stay quiet—to fix, do, carry it all, keep the peace, and never complain.
Over time, that silence grows… until the emotional pain gets louder, and prayer feels like the only place left to turn.
Because I didn’t grow up with Jesus, learning how to relate to Him—how to ask for what I need, how to accept that I have needs—has been a journey.
This morning in prayer, I heard this clearly:
Start with Jesus. Ask Him for what you need. He has always been there.
What I now understand is that many of my cravings during menopause weren’t about food—they were a hunger for joy, emotional stability, wholeness, and home.
Jesus is the foundation of that joy and connection. From Him, all other relationships flow.
At 59, I’m finally experiencing the clarity and peace I didn’t know I was missing. I no longer feel alone. I don’t need all the answers—I know who does, and I trust Him to guide each step.
People come into our lives as messengers, but we must open the door to the most important relationship of all.
Thank you, Jesus, for meeting me here. As my faith grows, so does my joy, peace, courage, and emotional stability—regardless of circumstances.
Thank you to my Operation Freedom community and to my friend Julie Shives Baten , who gifted me a Jesus Calling book years before I knew how much I needed it. That was the beginning.
Now I can see the reflection of the version of me that God created, and from this place I see a clear path for the legacy vision I want to create.
It's a new year, we get to focus on what matters most, ladies remember taking care of self is not selfish it is most important for our peace and the ones around us.
My journey of seeking for something to help fill that emptiness started when my children left the nest.
Hope this helps someone today. What resonates with you???
