This one is for all the young orthopedic surgeons. This is a Schneider nail. This was used to treat my patients femur fracture back in 1957! Note the threaded tip and aggressive splines. Nail extraction was accomplished with a trephine and the Zimmer IMN extractor which threads on nicely to the tip.
