Hydration is crucial for sustainable energy in the holy month of Ramadan.

1. Include soups at Iftar
2. Include salads with your meal
3. Decrease caffeinated beverages
4. Eat fruits at Iftar and suhoor
5. Drink 1-2 cups of water to break your fast
6. Sip on water through the night

With the month of Ramadan around the corner, I like to take this opportunity to begin brainstorming on how I can create meals that will sustain my energy levels throughout the day.

Suhoor is an essential part of this month as it helps us to sustain our energy and focus .

Make sure to always include fat and protein for sustainable energy. Eggs, oatmeal, yogurt, fool, nuts and cheese are great choices!

Not forgetting Suhoor is recommended by the Prophet (SAWA), and for a good reason!

Try to dedicate 2 days a week to eating fish as the benefits of Omega 3 fatty acids are essential to optimal health! Fish is so quick to cook which makes it perfect for our non-stop schedules!!
