We are happy to announce our upcoming social event Boots, Bonding and Line Dancing. Yasss Mama's bring your boots 👢and fans 🪭 and let's finally get these line dance moves memorized. If you already got it come out and show us your moves. Our line dancing instructor is coming with the experience and fun to ensure we have a great time. Don't have a sitter? It's all good bring your baby or toddler with you. If needed we will teach you how to baby wear so you can keep rocking with baby in toe. Bring your water bottle, your boots and your fans & come meet other like minded-mamas and spend time with your doulas.

When: Sat October 11

Welcome to Black Breastfeeding Week. A week where we celebrate the beauty of feeding our children with our body. Where we talk about the challenges and the obstacles we had during the journey and tips and tricks that got us over the hump.

My story. My son and I were off to a rough start. Shredded ni***es, low milk supply and that round the clock feeding was for the birds. Crazy how you go from a 56 hour labor to having the responsibility of keeping a tiny human alive with your chest 😬🤪

If it wasn't for my midwife I'm not sure how my lactation journey would have panned out. She checked on baby and ME. Making sure we were both okay. I was NOT OK my vag and nips were from birth & nursing. It was not pretty. My midwife told me to start pumping after every feed. That needed to stimulate my breasts to ask it for more milk and I needed to supplement with that pumped milk to feed my son bc at the moment he was not getting enough. So started my journey to pump. We started out in mL bottles and I was so proud of my out put and graduated to ounces. Which eventually lead to a freezer full. Not because I was an over supplier but bc pumping was one of the few things I could control as a new mother. That I kind of became obsessed with it. I became a milk hoarder. Pumping and only using the least amount of milk pumped. If my son & I were together he was getting it straight from the tap. Looking back there were signs of postpartum anxiety there. At the time I never knew it was a thing. We, baby boy & I went on to nurse for 20 months. The final battle being how to get him off the breast. More on that later 😊.

During this nursing session I was celebrating 6 months of exclusively breastfeeding. Me & my little ham. HAPPY BLACK BREASTFEEDING WEEK 🤎🤱🏾🖤🤱🏿❤️🤱🏽

March 18th is Edwards Syndrome Day 💙🕊️ ​​​​​​​​
Last year I had the privilege of supporting a family as they prepared to welcome their child, knowing their little one would be born with this condition. Watching them navigate this journey with so much love and determination was nothing short of humbling.​​​​​​​​

As a mother, I felt their story in my heart—it was impossible not to. Seeing the way they pushed forward, balancing hope and heartbreak, reminded me just how deep a mother’s love runs. Even in the hardest moments, that love never fades.​​​​​​​​

Happy Birthday to my doula baby cutie pie who came fast and furiously into the world. I barely made it and my client's doctor missed it . Instead we had a wonderful hospitalist who I previously had the pleasure of working with. 

This picture is just so beautiful to me. Little squish literally seconds earth side ushered in with warm hands to a family who was eager to meet her. 

As a doulatog (doula & birth photographer) I really enjoy capturing these moments. They truly are once in a lifetime opportunities. You will never be pregnant with this child or give birth to this baby again. For the birthing person they are in throws of labor and  they generally have no idea what they look like the moment they meet their baby. These pictures hold 1k words and memories. At times, even while taking these pictures, the moment takes my breath away 🥹.

She texted me "Welcome Back!!" To which I immediately replied "I am NOT back yet... I come back on Monday." Two days away.  I could hear the sigh from 2 continents away "okay". That meant she could not  / did not want to have the baby yet. Once I landed I texted her let have a baby 👶🏽.  Thinking it would be a few days maybe even next week since she was still on the early side of being full term. Surprise!! Her hubby called me Tuesday morning just as I finished my chiropractic appointment saying it was go time. For her we knew it was to be true this was her 2nd baby and this wasn't our 1st rodeo.  

I gladly beat her at the hospital  and offered her concierge car door to hospital room door service so dad could park the car.  The goal was another unmedicated birth and 4 hours later she did just that. Pushed out baby in the position of her choice and was nothing but smiles afterwards. Achieving her birth goal once again. I was just honored to be by her side to support and see it happen again, this time capturing some photos of the journey as well.  

That was 1 year ago! Happy Birthday to my handsome doula baby. I cant believe its been a year. To my client thank you for "waiting" for me. I definitely didn’t want to miss supporting you. Our relationship is a special one as we have been each others clients supporting each others businesses and expertise. Happy birthing day to you also. You rocked this birth, but thats because you are a rock star. 🤩 Let me know when you're down for a threepeat 😊.

Is it still love week❣️ It is in our house 🏡😊. Why because you can't pay me to go to a restaurant on Valentine's Day. I would rather snuggle with the one that has my heart 💗 and my 2 heartbeats 👦🏾👧🏽. Of course we still find time for ourselves. Sometimes we have to get creative. Hello date days 👋🏾 or post bed time dates, but we make it work.

This man is the Dude behind this Doula making sure the kids are still getting to their bazillion things while I'm away at a birth. He helps me take my bags to the car no matter the time of day, prays for my safe travels and for the mom before sending me on my way. He's texting me after it's been a long while to see how I'm doing and how is the mom. He's the port of my support and I promise this train would not run as smoothly as it seems to run w/o him. So this is my appreciation post to my man as we approach our sweet 16th year of marriage this summer. We definitely aren't new to this yet very true to this. Love you babe 💋 & THANK YOU 🙏🏾.

Client Testimony Time!! 📝⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It's important to me to share that yes sometimes my clients have necessary c-sections. It is also important to me that my client still feels cared for and informed before, during and after the procedure. For this client it meant hand expressions postpartum to have milk for baby. It also meant firing her nurse because she was being sparky towards my client and we don't tolerate that here. 🙅🏾‍♀️

To my client, it has been a beautiful honor watching you transform from a nervous mom-to-be to finding your way in on the winding / unpredictable road of motherhood. I am so incredibly proud of you and so glad we found each other. 🫂❤️
