toddlerhood is the most beautiful and enjoyable time as your little ones are now able to show their likes and dislikes to different foods and they are developing flavours very quickly.
Their flavours and their favorite foods are constantly changing but the food habits that are being developed in this phase will remain constant.
In this post I'll be discussing some DONT'S of toddler nutrition to help in developing their healthy dietary habits.
❗Donot introduce commercially packed foods and processed foods like nuggets, chips artificial juices, nuggets, cupcakes etc after 1 year.
Once you start giving them all home made snacks in their early phase of toddlerhood, they will always have their likeness for oragnic foods.(Tried and tested!)
❗Donot stuff the food into toddlers mouth when he's simply crying or throwing tantrums.
Stuffing food into a crying child's mouth may lead to choking hazards also your bub will simply waste the whole meal in agony. The best response to this tantrum is to take the food away and comfort the child first, make peace and then offer him food after sometime. He will surely gonna eat. (I bet you at this)
❗Do not give the same food to a toddler on daily basis because toddlers get bored real quick so if you are offering them fruits and vegetables cut them in different shape with the help of a specific cutter or alter the recipe of the food. For e.g offer eggs as boiled, soft fried, french toast, pancakes, cheese scrambled.
❗Do not force the child for taking food if the child is simply saying no to every food. Notice that your toddler will not be crying, not in fever but will simply ignore all the food that you offer at this time so stop offering them food. Just like adults toddlers sometimes show this behavior for no reason. Give them some hunger aggravating multivitamin (better to give in day timing).
ask them for snacks, offer their favourite snacks for example a homemade pizza some mashed potatoes with butter and cheese home made nuggetsor potato cutlets, popcorn, fruits, favourite cereal with milk, peanut butter sandwich. Top feed ( if they're on it) or milk cup.
Its ok to eat something than to eat nothing.
