Buyers Beware
A study published in 2017 in JAMA where researchers ordered and tested 84 products sold by online in 2016 as CBD-containing products. Of those, only 26 were labeled accurately (containing CBD within 10 percent of the claimed amount) 36 of the products had more CBD than their label said; and 22 products had less. The researchers also found THC in 18 of the 84 samples. Laboratory tests of CBD products bought online revealed that most of the products were mislabeled. Less than one-third of the 84 products tested had labels that accurately described the amount of CBD found within. There are other such study showing the same results. Check out the website analytical360.com its a real eye opener.
Take away-If the CBD company can not provide you with their third party testing you probably should not be using their products. Third party testing should be the standard but until CBD is regulated by the FDA (if it ever will be) we will continue to see mislabeling and false marketing.
If you are interested in learning more about CBD please message me to set up a fee appointment. I will provide our third parting testing which we do on each and every batch along with other helpful information.
