Therapist Stacy

Therapist Stacy Hi there! My name is Stacy Sikes and I'm so honored to be entrusted in helping you with the difficulties you're experiencing right now.

I provide the space for clients to share their triumphs and struggles in a safe environment. My style is laid-back, relaxed, and non-judgmental. I have a background in working with those struggling with major life changes, dealing with narcissistic personality partners/breakups, and have the skills needed to get you back on track and making better decisions for your relationships (both with others and yourself). In your first visit, you can expect to be greeted with a warm smile and a listening ear. The first visit will be where we get to know one another. It's important in the therapeutic relationship that you not only tell your therapist what's going on in your life, but what you need from me as well. I create a space for just that. When talking with me, you will feel listened to, be asked some clarifying and background questions, and be given some possible alternatives that you could try in order to live a happier life. I believe that it is your life and it is your decisions to make, but that I as the therapist am there to help guide you to make the best decision for you.

Experiencing a breach in trust in a romantic relationship can be catastrophic. When someone chooses to go outside of their partnership and make a connection with someone else - whether it be emotional, physical, or all of the above, it can be devastating.

However, if both partners are committed to rebuilding the trust between you, it is possible to have a stronger relationship than ever before. Are you struggling with infidelity?

Anxiety can feel like a monster that is out of control and you have no way of conquering it: nothing could be further from the truth. You can make choices to reduce your anxiety. You have the power.

Here are a few tips you can use to make your days a little more smooth:

*Have a schedule for each day and stick to it. Having a routine can minimize the stress of figuring out what to do next.

*Be aware of when you’re feeling anxious. It’s okay to stop whatever you’re doing, breathe, regulate your heartbeat, and then move on to the next task.

*Practice deep breathing. Do it in the car, while you’re at the grocery store, in between meetings for work, or whenever you can.

*Practice healthy distractions. Having outlets for your anxiety can help minimize its effects. When feeling anxious, do something to get your mind off of it, like reading a book, going for a walk, work on a garden, clean a bathroom, ride a bike, write in a journal, or organize a space in your home.

The holidays can be a very stressful time of year. After all, a lot of people only see their extended family during this time, so it can be difficult to navigate those uncomfortable conversations and awkward situations. This holiday season, choose the path of less stress.

Here's a few tips on how to get through it as peacefully as possible:

1. Explore your feelings. Why are you feeling anxious, dread, etc. at the thought of seeing your family?
2. Come up with a plan to manage family gatherings.
3. Don't feel compelled to answer questions you don't feel like answering.
4. Put aside your own perfectionism.
5. Pay no mind to social media.
6. Focus on what you have and not what's missing.
