Anxiety can feel like a monster that is out of control and you have no way of conquering it: nothing could be further from the truth. You can make choices to reduce your anxiety. You have the power.
Here are a few tips you can use to make your days a little more smooth:
*Have a schedule for each day and stick to it. Having a routine can minimize the stress of figuring out what to do next.
*Be aware of when you’re feeling anxious. It’s okay to stop whatever you’re doing, breathe, regulate your heartbeat, and then move on to the next task.
*Practice deep breathing. Do it in the car, while you’re at the grocery store, in between meetings for work, or whenever you can.
*Practice healthy distractions. Having outlets for your anxiety can help minimize its effects. When feeling anxious, do something to get your mind off of it, like reading a book, going for a walk, work on a garden, clean a bathroom, ride a bike, write in a journal, or organize a space in your home.
