You've been working so hard on honoring your hunger cues... 😋

👉🏼 But the last few days it feels like you're CONSTANTLY hungry.

🍪 You find yourself wandering to the pantry, looking for something to give you a sense of satisfaction.

Although you WANT to honor these cues, you can't help but say to yourself: 👇🏼

‼️ "How can I be hungry, I JUST ate! I really shouldn't be eating this much..."

➡️ You're tired of constantly second-guessing yourself, and you wish you could just eat like a normal person without constantly wondering if you're doing something wrong.

🎉 At We All Eat, this is exactly what we work on with our clients.

💭 If you've been trapped in diet culture for a long time, it's really easy to allow these thoughts to take over.

🧠 But when you begin to work on your mindset and how you view food, you're able to acknowledge an increase in hunger cues without going down a negative mental spiral.

🧘🏽‍♀️ You can bring awareness to this happening. Think about why it is [maybe stress, menstrual cycle, increase in movement, poor sleep, etc], honor your needs and give yourself some grace.

🧐 And sometimes we don't know WHY our bodies needs food, but it's still our jobs to feed and care for it.

💗 If this is something you struggle with, we would be honored to help support you at We All Eat!

Quarantining doesn’t mean you have to be “working on yourself”. If virtually catching up with friends sounds more fun than working out and restricting that’s okay!
-----------------------
Throughout this period, we have to take care of ourselves, which includes not only our physical, but mental health as well!
-----------------------
Connection with others is a great way to boost your mental health and it is so important right now during this increased time at home.

SO many things can impact your appetite:

+ stress
+ hormones
+ what else you’ve eaten/not eaten that day
+ sleep
+ emotions
+ anxiety
+ etc.

------------------

Your body still needs food, regardless of what else is going on. Take the time to realize how you’ve care for your nutrition today!

04/27/2020

Your body knows it needs food throughout the day, but it’s not smart enough to know what time it is. Be kind to your body by nourishing it consistently throughout the day, and kind to your mind by not stressing about what specific time it is. ✨

We don’t care what the “holistic” professionals online say, no one food can protect you from catching a disease.

-----------------

Our biggest suggestions are:

Nourish yourself. Eating adequately and consistently will help your body (and immunity) run at its best. Any lack of food will cause your body to run in ways it doesn’t prefer and thus lessen the strength of certain systems like your immune system and energy levels.

Use coping skills. We think most people’s anxiety is high right now. We encourage you to do things that bring you joy and allow you to relax. Some of ours are listening to music, playing mario kart, and calling a friend.

Rest. Adequate rest helps your body perform well. It aids in regulating our hunger cues, stabilizes our mood, and can decrease anxiety.

Idk about you, but I’ve seen more people do push ups in the last week than I’ve seen in the last year.
----------------
Don’t get me wrong, push ups are great! But if you can’t do a push up or would rather do something else, there’s nothing wrong with that either!
----------------
Me personally, I have a bum shoulder (thanks to decades of playing competitive volleyball and getting older by the minute) that prevents me from doing push ups comfortably, and that’s okay.
----------------
Here is a fun list of other things you can do in 10s besides push ups, just in case push ups just don’t sound good right now or you’re unable to participate. Enjoy!

Disordered eating craves isolation because it makes it easier to engage in unhealthy behaviors. And, now that we have to stay home more, it may increase triggers to use disordered eating behaviors.

-----------------------

So, here’s a reminder of things disordered eating NEVER gave you:

+ freedom with food
+ less obsessive thoughts about food
+ less guilt/shame associated with eating
+ a healthy relationship with body movement
+ improved body image and higher self esteem
+ more energy to do the things you love
+ the ability to be present with others at meals

-----------------------

Just because unhealthy eating behaviors may be easier to engage in right now, doesn’t mean you should. Your body needs food for so many reasons, and engaging in these disordered patterns only gets you further away from a healthy relationship with food.

Reasons to NOT exercise:
-because you feel guilty seeing someone else exercising on instagram LIVE
-because you didn’t burn enough cals for the day
-because you ate a food you feel “bad” about
--------------
Reasons TO exercise:
-because it sounds fun
-because you want some fresh air and get out of the house
-because you’re trying something new with your friends
-because you wanna move your body

During this time, I’m sure we’re all a little on edge and looking for ways to improve our health and wellbeing. One of the most important things right now being our immunity!
--------------------------
I’ve heard several people express concern of food shortages and wanting to ration/restrict food as a result. However, even though certain brands may be limited in the stores, the stores do have food and restaurants are still able to provide delivery/pick-up in most areas. Additionally, food banks are functioning and doing their best to provide for those in need.
--------------------------
What I want you to remember is, even during a pandemic, your body still deserves and needs food. A lack of food will only cause medical complications and a decrease in your body’s ability to fight off disease. You need all the immunity your body can provide, especially when sickness is going around. Being nourished can help with that.
