I don’t remember the last Good Friday service I attended…

But I don’t think I’ll forget this one any time soon.

always shares a powerful Word, but last night was different.

Maybe because I’m in a different season - or maybe because I’ve just grown in my faith.

But I’m grateful for the way the Lord uses him to mark my soul and remind me He sees me.

“The grass withers, the flower fades… but the word of our God stands forever.”

As we step into Holy Week,
I’ve been thinking about this more deeply…

So much in our lives changes—
our energy, our routines,
even our bodies are in different seasons.

And it’s easy to fall into the cycle of chasing what’s temporary…
quick fixes, fast results,
what’s trending right now.

But this week is such a powerful reminder:

what God is doing is eternal.

While everything else fades…
His truth,
His promises,
and His purpose for our lives remain steady.

And that shifts how I see my health.

It’s no longer about just results or checking a box—
it’s about stewardship.

Taking care of my body so I have the energy, strength, and clarity to live out what He’s called me to do.

Not just for today…
but for something that lasts.

If your body feels off…

•achy joints
•brain fog

maybe it’s time to reset—intentionally.

Not with extremes.
Not with restriction.

But with simple, aligned habits that actually support your body.

Because I’ve learned this…
when we feel off physically,
it’s often a sign we’ve drifted out of rhythm—
with our habits, our health, and even how we’re stewarding what God gave us.

That’s why I commit with a 5-day reset at least once a month that’s built around real food:

Simple. Nourishing. Effective.

I’m so grateful for these early mornings together!

But a year ago, I honestly didn’t think I would ever be able to do something like this again!

And I was getting soooo frustrated.

I could fall asleep…easy! And stay asleep!

but I would wake up exhausted.

Just so tired.
Hitting snooze until the absolute last second I had to get up!
No matter how many hours I slept, it never seemed like enough.

And then everything else started to feel harder…

my body felt more inflamed,
my energy was low,
and I needed more rest between workouts.

That’s when I realized…

This wasn’t a fitness problem.
It was a hormone problem
That was affecting my sleep and recovery.

So I stopped trying to push harder…
and started supporting my body differently.

I was already in a good routine-
😴 Prioritizing consistent bedtime &winding down earlier

🧠 Reducing screen time before bed

✨ Praying with my family

So I had to go deeper…

And then I added in targeted support to help with:
• deeper sleep that actually restores my energy
• calming my nervous system so I recover better
• improving my REM sleep

And slowly… things started to change.

I started dreaming again.
And waking up feeling rested.
My energy came back.
My body felt less inflamed.

And now?
✨ I’m back to waking up for 5am workouts with my hubby feeling ready, not drained.

Not because I pushed harder…
but because I finally supported what my body actually needed.

As for -
he’s always been a morning person but he’s also waking up feeling more refreshed!

Still soaking in all the great memories we made this weekend with our family!

There were things I believed about health for years—
things that sounded right,
but didn’t actually serve my body…
especially in this season.

Maybe you’ve heard them too:

•Eat less
•Do more cardio
•Don’t lift heavy
•Aging means decline
•Smaller = healthier

And if I’m being honest… I fell for all of them.

I kept trying to “fix” myself—
pushing harder, eating less, doing more…
and wondering why my body wasn’t responding.

But here’s what I’ve learned:

Those were lies… or at least incomplete truths.

And when I started replacing them with what actually works—everything shifted.

✨ Truth: my body needs fuel, not restriction

✨ Truth: muscle is essential for my metabolism and longevity

✨ Truth: strength training supports my hormones

✨ Truth: my body is designed to adapt, not decline

✨ Truth: health is about how I feel and function—not just a number

And even deeper than that…

God didn’t create our bodies to be constantly fought or “fixed.”
He calls us to steward them with wisdom, care, and alignment.

When I made that shift—physically and spiritually—
I stopped striving… and started seeing real change.

If you want to build your metabolism,

Let go of extremes like
cutting out more food or doing more cardio.

Focus instead on simple habits that support your hormones better like these:

💪 Strength training
Muscle is one of the biggest drivers of metabolism—
but it also improves insulin sensitivity and hormone balance. Don’t be afraid to go heavy. You know you have the right amount of weight when that last rep challenging!

📌 Try this: focus on 30-min strength workouts 3–4x/week, progressing your weight each week.



🍗 Protein at every meal (25–30g)
Protein helps stabilize blood sugar, which directly impacts cortisol, energy, and fat storage.

📌 Try this: build every meal around protein first - especially breakfast! Meal prep an egg bake and be okay with repeating meals until you’re consistent!



😴 Sleep routine (7–8 hours)
Poor sleep = higher cortisol + disrupted hunger hormones = slower metabolism

📌 Try this: consistent bedtime + shut down screens 30 min earlier. This will help also get deeper sleep and REM sleep, so your brain detoxes and helps you wake up feeling restored!



It’s not about doing more necessarily- just more of the right things that matter to support your hormones so your body can actually get the signals to respond.

So many of us are trying to improve our health by working out more, eating better, and staying disciplined. All good things.

But if we’re constantly running on empty,
something is out of alignment.

In a culture that celebrates being busy and pushing through exhaustion,
choosing rest can feel unproductive.

But when our habits align with God’s design for our bodies,
we begin to experience the strength and clarity He intended.

God didn’t design our bodies to run nonstop.
He designed them with rhythms of work and rest.

📖 In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.”— Psalm 4:8

Sleep is one of the most powerful ways we can steward our health well.

When we get quality rest it supports:
💪🏽muscle recovery
🫶🏼hormone balance
🔥metabolism
🧠 mental clarity
⚡️energy for the people and purpose God has called us to

Sometimes the most productive thing you can do for your body…
is simply go to bed earlier.

Not because you’re being lazy.
But because you’re choosing alignment over exhaustion.
