Meet Maryam Abdul Ghaffar. Diagnosed with Wilms tumor at just two years old, Maryam received lifesaving care at SIUT including four rounds of chemotherapy completely free of cost.

Today, 18 years later, she’s a thriving undergraduate student in Business Commerce, full of life and gratitude for the second chance she was given. Maryam still visits SIUT every year for her check ups; she calls it her second home.

Every year, over 70,000 children in Pakistan are born with heart defects that most families cannot afford to treat. Since opening its cardiac unit in 2023, SIUT Children’s Hospital has performed over 1,500 lifesaving surgeries free of cost. One of them is 29-day-old Insha Fatima, whose parents came to SIUT in fear and found hope. Because of supporters like you, she received lifesaving care without a bill, only compassion.

SIUT Trust and the Edhi Foundation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening cooperation in undergraduate technical and medical education. The initiative will be carried out through the Sindh Institute of Medical Sciences (SIMS)–SIUT, a degree-awarding institute recognized by HEC.

The MoU was formally signed by Dr. Adib Rizvi, Founder of SIUT, and Mr. Faisal Edhi, CEO of the Edhi Foundation, marking a significant step toward expanding educational opportunities and fostering collaborative development.

SIUT and the Edhi Foundation share a longstanding relationship rooted in humanitarian service, and this partnership further builds on that shared legacy. Through this collaboration, both institutions aim to strengthen capacity building and support long-term progress in Pakistan’s healthcare and education sectors.
