Hi everyone — my name is Nazia Iftekhar, and I’m a board-certified family nurse practitioner with over 15 years in healthcare.
Recently, my work has become deeply focused on helping children with autism through a functional medicine approach.
As someone who is neurodivergent myself and also a parent of a child with autism, this work is deeply personal to me. It has shaped the way I listen, the way I observe patterns, and the way I support families navigating complex medical questions.
One of my strengths is connecting the dots — looking at nutrition, labs, gut health, metabolism, and neurologic function together instead of in isolation. I love helping families take complicated information and break it down step-by-step without overwhelm, always with compassion and respect.
Much of my work now centers around helping families of children with autism explore root-cause contributors that are often overlooked.
Recently I’ve also been helping introduce leucovorin therapy in carefully selected patients when there is evidence suggesting cerebral folate deficiency, particularly in some non-verbal children. Seeing the progress some families experience is incredibly humbling and rewarding.
I’m also excited to be attending the MAPS Conference, where clinicians from around the world gather to learn about emerging research and nuanced interventions that can support children with complex developmental needs.
I’m currently accepting new patients and work with families both locally and via telehealth. If your family has been searching for a deeper, root-cause approach to autism care, you’re always welcome to reach out or learn more about my practice.
And a small reflection:
Sometimes when you see a need, the system around you may not be built to address it.
Instead of becoming frustrated…
build something that does.
Find your niche. Serve it with sincerity.
The people who need you will find you.
💙
