講者介紹：
Richard Gibbs 教授來自澳洲，於墨爾本大學(University of Melbourne)取得博士學位後，跨海加入美國貝勒醫學院進行博士後研究並在之後取得教職。在那個基因研究剛起步的年代，他便展現出卓越的洞察力。當DNA雙股螺旋結構提出者和諾貝爾獎得主 James Watson 領軍啟動 HGP 時，Richard 在貝勒醫學院創立了「人類基因體定序中心（HGSC）」，成為全美五大核心研究中心之一，為人類及多種物種的基因定序奠定了基石。之後他更是在 2006 年率先提出「精準化基因體學（Personalized Genomics）」概念，並研發出關鍵的「外顯子捕捉技術（Exome Capture）」，徹底改變了遺傳疾病的診斷效率。他的研究團隊不僅對於多項單基因遺傳疾病的發現有相當顯著的貢獻，如今更專注於將基因發現轉化為臨床照護，為無數遺傳病患者帶來實質的醫療指引。

The HTCA is thrilled to announce a long-awaited hybrid webinar featuring a true giant in the field of genetics—Dr. Richard Gibbs. As a key architect of the Human Genome Project (HGP), Dr. Gibbs will share his extraordinary journey of deciphering the human genome and his lifelong exploration to understand hereditary diseases.

🌟🎙Speaker Introduction
Hailing from Australia, Dr. Gibbs earned his PhD at the University of Melbourne before joining Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) as a postdoctoral fellow and later as a faculty. Dr. Gibbs has been showing great insights to the field of genetics since the 1980s. When the NIH launched the HGP under the leadership of Nobel Laureate James Watson who discovered the DNA structure, Dr. Gibbs established the Human Genome Sequencing Center (HGSC) at BCM. It became one of the five primary centers in the U.S. responsible for sequencing the human and numerous model organisms' genomes. In 2006, Dr. Gibbs also pioneered the concept of Personalized Genomics. His group developed Exome Capture technology, a revolutionary tool for diagnosing genetic disorders. His group has made major contributions on Mendelian disease gene discoveries and is focused on clinical translation, turning complex genomic data into actionable clinical insights and improved patient care.

We are incredibly honored to host the HTCA Fall Webinar featuring Dr. Ronan Hsieh and Dr. John Lu. Both doctors will be sharing their experiences with U.S. clinical trials in the fields of academia and pharmaceutical industries .

Dr. Hsieh completed his Hematology/Oncology fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh, served as an Attending Medical Oncologist at the University of Washington, and is now an Attending Medical Oncologist at the Swedish Cancer Institute. Dr. Lu completed his Hematology/Oncology fellowship at the University of Southern California, served as an Attending Medical Oncologist at USC, and currently works as a Medical Director at Pfizer. Both speakers have extensive experiences in the field of Hematology/Oncology, which have resulted in distinct illustrious career paths in both industry and academia.

- Developed pricing, access, and evidence strategies across Biogen’s portfolio
- Oversees product strategies to optimize reimbursement outcomes and patient access to innovative therapies
