Yes! Yes! Yes! Wellness IS the natural state of our bodies! When we are not experiencing perfect health it is a prompt to look within. One of my favorite people is Louise L. Hay. Her book “You Can Heal Your Life” is one of my go to’s when I am not feeling the best. An ailment is created when we aren’t addressing our feelings. When we do not process our feelings our bodies release those feelings in the form of dis-ease in the body. Making sure that we address our feelings is imperative to perfect health.

I am in perfect health. I love love love the sound of that. I love the idea of that. Look at yourself in the mirror while looking into your eyes and say, “I am in perfect health, I love you!” Do this as many times as you can. Every time you see your reflection, until you believe it without a doubt.

You are important. You matter. You are loved.

Wow, I REALLY love this one. It is something that I am working on. I feel like an imposter in my body right now. I know that my reflection does not reflect my optimum self. I look in the mirror and see someone I do not recognize. I know I have work to do. My body is letting me know that. My job is to love my body as it is now. Through that love my body will shift into the healthy body I know I have. I do not own a scale. I do not believe that a number makes a healthy body. What makes a healthy body is the ability to move with ease; to feel good in your clothes. To feel good in general. I do not feel good when I wake up in the morning. I feel stiff and tired. I do not move with ease. When I have extra weight my breathing is labored at the smallest task. These are the things I want to improve, not a number on a scale. The truth is, like the Earth, we only have one body. We can’t go into town and trade it in on a new one. We have to take care of the one we are born with. I am working on that daily. I am excited for the new year. I know it will be a year of getting back on track and optimal health!

Mmmmm. This just feels good. Filling our thoughts with things that make us happy; makes us feel good. When we feel good, we are attracting other good things. When we feel good we are motivated to do things. When we feel good we move our bodies. Movement is good for our health. A healthy mind is the fastest way to a healthy body. A healthy self esteem can help with feeling worthy and secure. The way we look at ourselves also affects the people we have relationships with. When we have self confidence we have healthier relationships. A healthy self esteem also helps you to be able to take feedback more easily as well as maintain a positive outlook when things do not go according to plan or expectations. A healthy self esteem helps to enable you to be confident in who you are rather than needing to be accepted by others.

Listen to the thoughts you have and what you tell yourself. Pay attention to how kind or harshly you speak to yourself and begin to make adjustments as necessary. Our self talk is important to pay attention to because our thoughts aren’t always kind and need to be adjusted. Louise Hay calls it mental house cleaning. Sometimes we need to let go of old thought patterns that no longer serve us.

Mmmmm. This just feels good. Filling our thoughts with things that make us happy; makes us feel good. When we feel good, we are attracting other good things. I do work with wonderful people. I do love what I do. This is such a great affirmation because it can show us things about our situation that we’d like to change, but it can also be a prompt for gratitude. I am grateful for my clients and the work I do every day. I am grateful I get to help people become more healthy, learn how to eat healthier and think more positively.

When we shift our thinking we are able to attract the things that we do want. Insead of the things that we don’t want. The Universe doesn’t care. We are emotional beings living in an emotional Universe. The Universe doesn’t judge what we think and feel. It just gives us more of it. When we think about positive things and feel positive things we attract more of those things. When we think negatively, then start feeling negatively, we attract more negativity. It is quite simple really. The trick is shifting from the negative to the positive. The trick is processing the things quickly so that we don’t get stuck in the negativity. How do we do that?

When we are having a negative thought, recognize it. Start to pay attention to what thoughts you have and where they go. How do you feel when you are thinking those thoughts? One of the most powerful images I have is when I was feeling really bad about something and talking to my partner about it, he took a picture of me and showed it to me. He said, “Look at yourself, see what you look like right now?” I looked terrified in the picture. This helped me to see my feelings and shift my mood quicker than if I had not seen myself like that.

Have you ever looked at yourself in the mirror while you were sad, upset or scared? It may allow you to see yourself from a different perspective.

Imagine that. Imagine if you believed this statement at the core of your being. Everyone I encounter today has my BEST interest at heart. This is exactly what affirmations are for. This is what manifestation is all about. Taking a statement like this and transforming your brain to believe it wholeheartedly. Everyone you encounter today has YOUR best interest at heart. Say this when you wake up, before you leave the house, when you get to your destination and the whole day. Say it over and over and see the results. If this phrase doesn't resonate with you the way that it is worded, reword it to better fit your needs. Imagine what the world would be like if all 8 billion of us on the planet walked around all day saying and having the best interest at heart for each other.

The Past Is Over and Done. This is something that I know some of my clients have struggled with. Letting go of the past can be some of the toughest things we can do. A missed opportunity or a situation where you feel you’ve been wronged can be tough to let go. Letting go can also be one of the most healing things you can do for yourself. Who would you be if you weren’t holding on to this memory? Who would you be if you were able to move past this moment from your past? These are questions I like to ask myself when faced with an unpleasant memory. Also, there isn’t anything we can do in this moment to change what has happened. We can learn and grow from choices we’ve made. We can learn and grow from the experiences we’ve had and make better choices in the future.

This one is interesting, because as I’ve learned more and more about health I’ve realized how important this is.

I’ve mentioned it before; one of my favorite books is The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. In his book the Fourth Agreement is Always do your best. This means being able to assess where you are energetically, in the moment. Sometimes we do not feel 100% and it is being able to recognize this and adjust what you are doing accordingly. We don’t always check in with ourselves when we have a big project or a laundry list of things to do and need to get them all done. Rest and recuperation need to be on our list as well. Taking time to adjust and ask for help when needed is important as well. Where in your life have you taken on too much or committed yourself too much and have paid the price for it later?

This is the season where we can take on too much or over extend ourselves. Make sure you are making yourself a priority and remember, you are no good to anyone if you aren’t taking care of yourself.

What am I Grateful for? Wow, this list could get REALLY long. Haha! I am grateful for YOU! I am grateful for love. I am grateful for my family. I am grateful for friends. I am grateful for healthy food. I am grateful for cooler weather and the holidays. I am grateful that I am able to move and walk. I am grateful that I have a safe and comfortable home that meets most of my needs. I am grateful for fun. I am grateful for games. I am grateful for weekends and rest. I am grateful for warm tea on cold mornings. I am grateful for memories. I am grateful for warm baths.

What does being grateful do for us? It shifts our focus. It gives us something to concentrate on that is uplifting and makes us feel happy. It shifts our mood. When we are upset, and we can think about something that makes us feel good or happy, our focus is shifted from something negative to something positive. It brings up our vibration. It helps us to look at what is happening and see it in a more clear light. We are able to move through the negative process instead of getting stuck in it. That is how we can shift from being in a negative frame of mind into a more positive one. You can then shift the outcome of the rest of your day. You do not get stuck in a negative mood that then spreads to other areas of your life. When we are able to process things that aren’t pleasant in the moment we don’t get stuck. We are able to “bounce back” as my mom used to say; bounce back to the positive mood and not allow something negative that has happened to create an unhappy day.

This just feels good; doesn't it? When we have extra weight on our bodies there are two reasons for this. One weight = waste. Meaning, the extra weight is waste that hasn't left your body yet. The second is protection; a layer of protection between us and the outside world.

I have been exploring this. What do I feel I need to be protected from? I realized, the answer is nothing. I am protected. I do not need this layer of protection any longer because I AM SAFE. I no longer need to keep this extra weight on because I can protect myself. I am protecting myself. So, now I need to do the work to release the weight. I get to discover why I am holding on to something that no longer serves me and I no longer need. I will be journaling and meditating on these things over the next few days.
